When you appraise it, it tells you. That's alls I know.

I'm pretty sure tiny Rattata is around 2.5 kg and less.

I assume rats with xs and karps with xl displayed next to their size are the ones that count.

It says XS for rattata and XL for magikarp.

I think it is a bit more complicated than that since I have gotten several XS and XL without increasing medal counter.

I read some place (can´t find where) that it was mostly weight, but calculated with a slight dependence on length as well. Makes sense to me since I have gotten some between 2.5 and 2.7 kg that sometimes are tiny sometimes not.

I check every XS rattata and XL magikarp after I catch them, and all count towards their medals.

XL = 12,5 kg big >13,5
XS = 2,5 tiny < 2 kg

For rattata i know, 2,62 kg or less is xs above and it is normal or large

Rattata real XS: <2.4kg
Magikarp real XL: >13.1kg
