Dumb Question Time

I just caught a cp10 kakuna, so how can a kakuna be a cp10, since it is an evolved form. What was the cp of the weedle that it came from?

  1. Though probably less and displaying as 10 as that's the least it will ever show.

It because the monster is level 1, which is independent of evolutions. I have a level 1, 96% Dratini which is 12 CP, I could evolve him into a Dragonaire (CP 22) or Dragonite (CP 50). There are level 1 Dragonites in the wild with CP 44-50.

Its because even though Kakuna has more total stats as an evolved pokemon than Weedle.... It has less attack specificilly.

Which makes total sense since it's a cocoon and can't attack.

Attack > other stats in CP. So kakuna's lower attack allows it to have 10 cp

Also, it's possible that the Weedle would have had a cp calculated out to be 7 or 8, but cp cannot be lower than 10 so low values are rounded up.

Any CP or HP value less than 10 is rounded up to 10.
