Breakpoints for charge attacks?

Straight to the point: Are there breakpoints for charge moves?
And also another question related to the previous: Assuming i have a maxed out 96% tyranitar with a 13 attack stat (13/15/15), will there be any difference in the fast or charge moves dmg compared to a maxed out 96% tyranitar with a 15 attack stat (15/15/13)? In other words: Are those breakpoints irrelevant if you plan to max out the pokemon anyway?

yes and no, yes there are "breakpoints" for charge moves but no they don't really change much.

E.G., a maxed ttar vs gengar with crunch does
98 damage with 13 attack
99 damage with 15 attack

vs Alakazam
80 damage with 13 attack
81 damage with 15 attack

VS Mewtwo they are the same (79 damage)

So yes there is a difference, but when you consider that you'll likely get 4-8 crunches in per raid per Ttar, that comes out to ~1 Bite damage difference or 0.5 seconds.

Yes, but they don't really matter. 1p extra on a CM with 75p damage makes no real difference. 1 damage point extra on each quick move makes a difference.

-tyranitar with a 13 attack stat (13/15/15) (...) any difference in the fast or charge moves dmg compared to a maxed out 96% tyranitar with a 15 attack stat (15/15/13)?

The 15 attack will in theory more likely have a higher DPS due to the CM probably having 1 or 2 extra damage per use.

but 1p extra on a charge move will give you a extra charge move DPS rate of maybe 1,3% (1/75) and that makes no real difference.

As long as you hit break point on the quick move your fine in more or less all cases.

only if the charge moves damage is very low does break point matter.

So with other words: as long as i max out my pokemon to lvl 39 it doesn't really matter if its attack stat is 12,13,14 or 15 considering the fast moves dmg breakpoint? If this is the case: Wouldn't it be better to max out a 13/15/15 tyranitar because of the higher defense/hp stats? Thanks in advance!

ttar has no breakpoints near level 39 against anything you are likely to care about.

basically when you look at a damage spreed sheet low damage moves have infrequent but large steps in their damage increase so a ttars bite may only do 5 damage at around level 20, 6 at around level 30 and 7 maxed (roughly) hence if you have just achieved 'break point' there is no further gain from power up unless you are prepared to spend enough for say 8 full levels.
Or say you have gone to level 30 and notice one more power up gets you an extra point of damage so is worth it.
On the other hand high damage moves increase their damage more smoothly as you level them up.
it all has to do with rounding
ie 5, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 all come out as 5 and you don't see any damage increase until it rounds to 6.
but 50, 51, 52 (like a crunch) etc no rounding required and hence a smooth damage increase.

the attack value just influences when a "break point" is reached and if the final breakpoint is near level 39 then whether it is obtainable at all.

I have the same question, but only for Zapdos. Is there any difference in Zapdos' damage with att15 between the one with the att14?
