Mewtwo ran from me
I did a ex raid and failed while nearly everyone else caught it.
That's me done. I've been making amusing complaints about the game recently, but nothing is as bad as seeing everyone else run around showing off their Mewtwos (show offs really irritate me.) Not gonna blame Niantic for that, it's just a constant reminder that i don't have one and prob wouldn't get one for a very long time. I'd rather retire than continue like this.

That's just sad. I cannot really say I know how you feel since I really don't and I caught mine but let me just say this... things like this will happen eventually. Probably this is how they will introduce some Legendaries as well. If a single letdown early on (arguably since this is the 1st wave of exclusive raids) will prompt you to quit... things won't really be happy for you. Chill man. You'll have them at some point.
Dude... Mewtwo doesn't make the Pokémon Go world go around. Giving up and putting all the work you have done aside for 1 Pokémon escape is kinda foolish IMHO. Now if you tell me you want to quit because you don't feel like playing the game anymore, that's fine by me but not this reason mate. We don't even know how these EX raids would turn out in the long run. Don't rush. Chill and have fun.
There's a guy around here that started a second account after his first one hit level 40 (small town so he's pretty far ahead of everybody else)

I was surprised he even kept playing. Even more surprised to see him show up at the raid for his shitty account to get a mewtwo lol
Im in the same boat as you, had a ex raid yesterday and didn’t catch my mewtwo either unfortunately.. I was a bit salty at first but I got over it (wasn’t the greatest iv’s either.) I know other people haven’t even had a chance to do one yet and some other people didn’t catch it either though. I look at it this way, it just wasn’t the right time for us to catch him yet and atleast we will be prepared for next time we get another invite and it won’t be as nerve wrecking as the first time you do one atleast for me. Would I of liked to have had it as a new dex entry? Yeah, but it is what it is can’t do anything about it now but fix the mistakes during that raid and be prepared for next time. In my situation it was raining the whole time before the ex raid started and when it started so the rain didn’t help in my situation imo, My team didn’t have gym control since we had people there 2 hours prior to the raid with mons in the gym already fighting off spoofers with gr (I even went a hour and a half early myself to try to get gym control and it was not happening.) so only ended up with 9-10 balls which isn’t bad compared to only getting 6 or 7 but still could of used the extra 2 or 3. Also I was a bit impatient at first and wasn’t exactly waiting for attack animations to throw which costed me. So that’s all stuff I’m aware of now for the next time that I need to fix. Besides the rain of course I have no control over that lol.. my first ex raid was just a bad luck disaster but like I said the iv’s weren’t that great so I’m not stressing it they weren’t bad 80-82% but I would of been way more salty if it was anything over 90+ iv’s. That’s atleast what I’m aiming for.

ofc you'll learn for the next mewtwo, but when will that be? Can you cope with your group showing off their mewtwos! :P
in my situation i had 11 balls, missed with a couple and another couple failed to be great curveballs. I can hit dogs with 50 or 100 curveballs in a row but mewtwo seemed harder :(
Yeah i think the legendary mons were fighting when mewtwo arrived yesterday cause it started down pouring, then hailing, thunder and lightning then I got a alert flood warning and I’m like yeah I’m still going to the mewtwo raid lol.
It’s only a matter of time just depends when. I’m not in no rush and could honestly care less if people have a mewtwo already everyone is gonna get one eventually people that got one now or had a chance like us, would of just been ahead of the game but even then people still want a better iv one even when they have 1 already so.
Sorry, that must be disappointing. But it you got one invite, you will surely get another, and you have all other legendaries (right?).
I've had to come to terms that I have none, and can't get them either (rural player). And I'm level 37. With time, I got over it.
You will get another chance at Mewtwo, but I will never get Articuno :-(

P.S. Mewtwo is the only legendary I may be able to get since EX raids happen in rural areas as well and may bring together the trainers in all teams we would need. I can wait.
Mine ran too. Got 11 balls and Mostly all excellent curve balls. Live for a another day my friend. It's all good. Btw, I thought I was the only one that didn't catch it but guess what, I wasn't. Several others with the same dumb luck. It will turn around and you will soon have something everyone wants but can't get.
U're not alone my fd, mine ran away too...feel very very sad the first few days.
But now I'm busy farming dust (aim to get 1 mil at the end of event, starting from almost 0) to get already for powering up my future high IVs Mewtwo. The Ex-raid is only at field testing stage and not even worldwide released. We will eventually get the 2nd chance :)
