How Fast Should I Tap?

Does anyone know how often the POGO reads the tap input? In battling, I tend to hit the screen about 8-10 times per second. Great if the program can handle 50 times per second but what if it only recognizes 5 taps? Any ideas?

I've heard that the Pokémon attacks for every time that you tap the screen. So if you tap three time with bite then you'll attack three times and in total it will take up 1.5 seconds. FYI the defending Pokémon attacks every 2.5 seconds so with an attack like bite you can either attack four or five times ( the reason that I say three or four is because I'm not sure how dodging is taken into effect) due to bites 1/2 a second cool down. I hope this was helpful sorry for making the answer so long.

EDIT: tap however many times you wanna attack.

There is absoutely no reason to tap the screen 8-10 times per second. Your pokemon will not attack faster nor build energy faster. This was a myth that was created in the early phase of the game where several articles said that battling was all about "tapping the screen as fast as you can". Your pokemon can only fire off his/her fast move as fast as that particular move is. There is no benefit to trying to tap much faster than that.

Originally it would wait until the previous move was completed before it would accept input for the next move. This meant you either waited until you saw the attack was completed before tapping, in which case you would lose a little bit of time in between each attack due to response time from your eye to your brain to your hand, or you cloud spam tap hoping to hit the screen sooner.

At some point the battle system was updated so that it caches input for your next move. Now while an attack animation is playing, you can tap, hold, or swipe to instruct the next move which will begin immediately after the current move finishes. Extra taps after the next move is cached are redundant; it will only cache one move ahead.

i tap just as fast as my quickattack can fire.
if i use a ttar it's bite with a cooldown of .5 sec.
if i use golem and it's rocktrow with a cooldown of .9 sec.
i don't tap several times in advance in raids.
if a have to dodge a charged attack to get my second stoneedge in it might mess things up.
so i try to stay cool and tap just as fast as the quickattack can handle.

This is how I prefer to play too. Occasionally I'll double tap to load a move and try squeeze in that last quick move, but otherwise I try to move at the pace of the move.

My record is around 120 taps in 10 seconds on the GameCube playing domination in Mario Party 4.
