Maybe we shouldn't ever have trading, only breeding...
What do people think of the idea of not ever having trading, and instead only being able to breed pokemon, and maybe exchange items (but not pokemon) in that context - and ONLY permitting breeding where the two parents are owned by different trainers.
What I'm imagining is...
A player taps a button for pokemon breeding. Brings up a lobby showing all other players in the breeding lobby within say 100m (so you have to be local to breed - no teledildonics). You can then select a number of pokemon to advertise that you want to breed. Other players can see those pokemon, and their assessments. Then, if they have a compatible pokemon, they can offer to breed with your pokemon. The result would be one egg (and both pokemon on a cooldown) to the owner of the female pokemon - and they could offer the owner of the male pokemon items (as a "stud fee" like in real animal breeding), including stardust or pokemon candies.
Something like that?
That would give a sort of trading, while making RMTing a lot harder?

I didn't say that there are people willing to...(I'm sure there would be, after a while).
I'm trying to figure out prices, by asking how much one would pay max/accept least...
If trades come in, then starts a complex market mechanism (I hate it, but that is it).
So you basically would accept even just 250 $ for it?
I, too, have given the knee-jerk reaction of "trading will ruin this game". But really, how? We already have spoofers running rampant, and there are sites where you can buy a specific mon (like a 100% Dragonite or a Legendary package), where spoofers take your account and catch that mon for you from anywhere in the world for a fee. (Someone posted a link to one of those sites a week or so ago.) So there's still going to be cheating and people monetizing the game.
If legit players aren't already buying those or spoofing on their own, why would they start paying to trade, especially if the mon are suspect? I certainly wouldn't. What am I missing?
I would guess those sites have customers. Otherwise, why would they exist? But I still contend that cheaters are going to cheat, whether that be through pay for trade or paying spoofers to take their account for a few days. But then there are legit players (like most of us on this site, I hope) who would like to trade with friends/family or even a person I randomly meet at a raid who missed out on an Articuno (for example). I have several extra I'd be glad to trade away, even if for a Pidgey.
