Raikou: I am too stupid to use Pokebattler...

...to answer my own question. I want to get max damage premier balls (ideally +3) for Raikou raids. I want to load up on max DPSers (especially with raids where there are a lot of trainers) and leave tanky ones for the end. How should I load up my team and in what order? Here are my options -- a mix of supremes, tanks, and glass cannons:

Rhydon -- mudslap/eq, level 30 (x3)
Moltres -- firespin/overheat, level 37.5 (x1)
Dragonite - db/dc, level 31.5 (x1)
Gengar -- sc/sb, level 30 (x1)
Alakazam -- c/fs, level 30 (x1)
Golem -- rt/se, level 32 (x3) (this is rock/rock)
Machamp -- c/dp level 31 (x3)
Donphan -- counter/eq, level 30 (x1)

I didn't add IVs for the calculation of breakpoints, but could if y'all want to know. thanks!

I just use what the computer gives me, 4 ground Rhydon 2975 to 2850. A 2540 C/EQ Donphan and a 2350 double rock Golem, owner of 13 Raikous...13 out of 23...started 1 for 7 (12 for last 16)---I'm holding even on golden razz, too. The best thing to do: try to get the people you raid with to consistently show up. We still have 3 weeks of this where I am--some of these raiders are going to evaporate as it goes

The computer is definitely getting better auto-selecting. However, it picks my bug-attack, rock-attack, and fighting-attack Rhydons, which have higher CP, but would not do SE damage. I have to manually swap those out for the raids.

I would roll out your 3 rhydons, next donpahn, next golden and last dragonite. With this lineup you will get 2-3 damage balls unless it's a huge group like +15 plus, try to keep the group size around 6-7 and you will definitely get 3 balls with this lineup.

The biggest differences right now is veer to gyms your color controls and help/hope your color wins the damage tally. However, I don't think Raikou is worth squeezing every ball possible though, at least in my area plenty of opportunities for it. Mewtwo whole different story, they are playing mindgames with us on that one

Assuming you have lots of dust and you want to spend it on raiding Raikou:
Power up the three Rhydons all the way.

In a typical Raikou raid, you won't get past the three.

If you find yourself trying to take down Raikou with a small party, when the third one dies max revive all three and get back in asap.

I'd power up the Golems next, but not necessarily for Raikou.

Unless there's a close breakpoint, I don't want to spend a bunch of dust on the Rhydons. (Save it for Legendaries, TTar, Nites.) They do the job, but I want to see if I can eek out a few more damage balls. I usually get +1, but sometimes +2. I've raided 7 so far, typically with about 8-12 other raiders.

Agreed, but neither of us has a hard-on for Raikou.

This question jumped right into the hypothetical from the start.

Would anything damage Raikou quicker than a ground-ground Rhydon, even if it faints sooner than the Rhydon would? I'd load them up first, then put the 3 Rhydon behind it/them. Also, what is the damage breakpoint for a Rhydon (assume 15 atk IV)?
