Solo arcane with WC

It was my first solo L3 boss. All 3 attempts failed with time out. The last attempt line up was as follows with a few seconds to rejoin, but time's up when actual rejoin.
L40 dragonite dt,hu
L38.5 dragonite dt,o
L36.5 dragonite dt, dp
L33 dragonite dt, o
L30 tyranitar b,c
L30 tyranitar b,c

Just wonder how to change the lineup resource efficiently to take down such arcanine boss. Thanks.

Maybe golems or rhydons in place of dragonite?

Actually my first attempt consisted of golems and rhydons with stone edge or earthquake. Majority were L30, but one rhydon of L33.5. timeout at the last higher level rhydon.

How much hp did he have left when you timed out? Maybe put in 1 or 2 glass cannons then the rhydons/golems

Maybe, I was too aggressive to replace all golems and rhydons with dragonites and tyranitars since I thought they are too slow in making damage though high survivors.

I honestly am still not able to solo any 3 stars. I have only 1 dragonite 91% with about 2500cp so im not the best to advise you. Maybe like a few others have mentioned start off with your best dps mons v arcanine followed by golem rhydons. Though i dont know if the high lvl dragonites out dps golem and rhydon v arcanine or not .. in which case you might be better off with 2 glass cannons followed by the dragonites. Might be worth trying some simulations

Add one Vaporeon as a glass cannon. Fill the rest of the lineup with Rhydons and Golems.

Don't use Tyranitar if it doesn't have Stone Edge.

None of those Pokemon are super effective to Arcanine. Use rock Golems.

Use rock golems and at least start out with a vaporeon. Tyranitars with B/C are also not optimal. Not sure about DT/DP.

BTW, I also wonder if WC is the most difficult move to solo for arcanine boss since I can't use vaporeons which have higher DPs I guess. Right?

Crunch should arguably be the hardest because the only viable counter that resists it is Poliwrath. And being a move with great damage and 3 bars is going to hurt many attackers in the 180 seconds period.

Vaporeons still deal high damage, and Wild Charge isn't too fast. Even if you do get hit for full damage, Vaporeons are tanky enough that they can make use of the energy gain.

People bring Gengars to solo Alakazam despite it fainting incredibly quickly purely because it deals a ton of damage, or Golems to Articuno raids for the same reason. The damage that they deal outweighs the damage they take.

Your issue is that you don't have enough damage because you're not using Pokemon with type advantage. Bringing 6 Dragonites is no longer the most DPS in every battle.

I'd swap out the Tyranitars for Rock Throw Golems and/or Vaporeons. Mud Slap is a mediocre move so I don't suggest bringing Rhydons despite them resisting and also being super effective, unless you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel, because your issue is lack of damage, not surviving long enough.

I'd switch out the DT/DP and DT/H Dragonites over the ones with Outrage for Vaporeons / Golems too. Outrage does more DPS than either of those moves and DT reaches a damage breakpoint at level 33 if your attack IV is 12.

Dragonite's Dragon Tail has a higher true DPS value than a Rhydon's Mud Slap increased by 1.4, despite me saying how important it is to have type advantage, a Pokemon's move is also important too.

You should consider going to pokebattler and putting together a pokebox with your pokemon in it. You can sort by time or by damage done. It will tell you who your top 6 are and you can make sure it's possible against whatever moveset you are facing. Good luck!
