candy from gym defenders?

when feeding berries apparently you sometimes get candy, but i never seem to get any. Is it a myth? does it have to be your pokemon? does it matter which berry you use?

No it's true. Out of 3000+ berries I've never got one candy from any Pokemon but my friend got a chansey candy yesterday. Don't know how it works but it's definitely not a myth.

You've gotten some. You just didn't see the tiny 1 second animation in the corner of your phone.

I'm positive you received some candies. However, there is no notification and it goes so fast. I used to think I never got one, until I started paying close attention to every berry. Then I saw them popping up now and then. They are still very rare.

Yes I can attest to it! I've gotten maybe 3 or 4 (out of 1600ish berries)

It is just an incredibly small chance at receiving a candy from feeding berries. Also, there is no message; the berry quickly pops up in the top-right corner and just as quickly disappears. You have probably received some berries without seeing them.

The animation for the candy is very fast and is easy to miss (I know I got 2 this weekend that I missed). However, I have noticed that the drop rate has slowed down a lot. I used to get them about 1/50 berries, but now it's more on the order of 1/150 berries or so. It could all be RNG, but it does happen and it is rare.

You can get them from other people's mons as well as your own. Any type of berry will get you a candy (if you are lucky). I've gotten them on every count of the 10 berry feed limit. I haven't gotten more than 1 from the same mon (except during the double event). I haven't gotten more than 1 from the same gym, however, because of the 1 mon type limit in gyms there rarely are 2+ types I'm trying to get candies from so I stop feeding that gym once the desired type is maxed.

I only feed other people's mon's remotely since the CP effect is lower and I don't want to keep their mon from them or hurt their coin intake.

Good Luck!

I agree I've fed 2500 berries, but I noticed them the most when I started remote feeding. I don't feed them as much anymore, but I've noticed the candy drop rate being slower. Throughout I've confirmed at least 20 candy from feeding

I've seen it happen I think six times out of about 900 berries fed, and I wouldn't be surprised if I missed one or two more. I actually got two in a row from a Rhydon I fed two berries the other day. Too bad it wasn't something with more valuable candy.

I've noticed maybe 2-3 candies out of the ~1000 berries I've fed. Maybe I've gotten more and not noticed however.

As an FYI, it's very hard to see as it pops up at the top right where the +stardust does, and it kinda looks like it. There's no other notification.

I receiced candies multiple times. Once even 2.

It's very rare that it happens, but it does happen. I usually put in Pokemon like Tyranitar, Chansey, or Ampharos in the hopes of getting a candy or two. And, it doesn't matter which berry you use, nor does the Pokemon have to be yours to get candy.

Most of the time I guess we don't pay attention. Last time I fed the whole team with 60 berries I got 3 candies.

If it drops candies, it's shown on the top right corner like this.

It happens. Feed your berries to mons where you need candy. I always feed Snorlaxes!

I only started to pay attention to the upper right hand corner a couple of weeks ago and the candies seem fairly frequent to me. Only seems to happen when I am feeding the max limit of 10 berries to one mon. I might get 1 candy on the 7th or 8th berry.

It happened relatively often when the gym rework happened, but it soon became a very rare phenomenon.
