Who's your 6?

If PVP rolled out today and your mate put $1,000 on the line, which 6 mons would you go with while keeping the current gym rule in mind (1 type each). Heres my 6 to beat my friend to a bloody pulp.

Dragonite DT/OR Tyranitar B/SE Vaporeon WG/HP Snorlax L/BS Machamp C/DP Raikou TS/WC

Personally I think Aqua Tail would be better for Vaporeon in PVP if that ever comes, it's faster and costs much less energy, also DB/ DC in D'Nite but that set is now unobtainable sadly, Machamp with Karate Chop would be way better due to its less cooldown and higher EPS, not sure about DP, the rest of your team will be great at dodging and attacking

sadly i dont have that legacy. but i do have DB/O and DT/DC variations. Would either one be superior to DT/O for pvp?

Well there are 2 ways which I can imagine pvp can be designed.

  1. Something like actual gym system. So faster attacks would be better.
  2. Something like old game boy pokemon games combined with card game. Where every player will have one turn to attack/heal. And choose between strong but not so accurate attacks and less powerfull but more accurate attacks.

But this is just mine imagination.

Couldn't have said it better. I doubt the latter will happen, I feel like Niantic are in too deep with the current system, however I would be all for either!

Either would!

I predict Outrage will kind of blow in PvP for two reasons: a longer colldown than hyperbeam, the damage is dealt late in the animation (2.5-3s into the animation?)-it will be easy to dodge and will allow the opponent to also dish out hella damage.

I have a feeling moves wil be rebalanced when PvP is released, or at least some time after? If not, and if moves stay the way they do, I'd choose DT/DC > DB/O;

DB is favorable over DT only in terms of cooldown; Energy generation is slightly inferior to DT and the DPS is even more inferior (albeit not by much). However, Running DB with O is counter-intuitive from a dodging perspective; hurricane would be better in this context.

D.C. Especially will be very valuable in PvP due to the ability to dodge an opponent's charge move and then immediately punish them with minimal risk of taking the next attack

Also I agree that AT > HP for vaporeon in PvP, as it will allow an individual to fire off a charge move and THEN switch out, in the case that the opponent switches in a counter. HP requires much more energy and will be more of a commitment, in the case that the opponent switches in, say, jolteon, after you switch in vape.

L/BS is going to be sooooo nasty in PvP, good decision ::))

I bet Niantic will regulate legendaries in PvP, I predict that an option will exist to either include them or not, and the default will be not allowed (otherwise everybody would choose all legendaries for the most part, reducing variety). ~ This is just another prediction ~

Lastly, as much as I like using B/SE Tyranitar, Bite charged energy very slowly. That will allows opponents to freely switch in a counter (Machamp). I won't run Tyranitar (at least with Stone Edge) for this reason, but if you choose to, it will be a sweet mon when the opponent's Tyranitar counters are KO'd !

Edit: I don't know how those blocks became bold, sorry, didn't mean for that!

Also, I know this post is founded upon a tonnnnn of assumption, but I based these off the current battle mechanics, which, If they hold true, may allow this reflection to hold accurate in some areas

All maxed out

Blissey zh/dg
Dragonite db/dp
Vaporeon wg/hp
Machamp ct/dp
Tyran bi/cr
Exegutor cf/seedbomb

I think Blissey will be very usefull in pvp.

Actually I think that players will be making deals to NOT select Blissey for the match. And I totally agree with that.

But I got 2x 96% maxed out so... :)

I don't know about Blissey, she won't have double HP like she do as a gym Defender, a 2200 Machamp will easly beat her.

I think I'll finish it off with Exodia or Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon.

Serieus; won't be interested myself in PvP unless rewards are attached to it

I won't expect pvp is gonna be fun simply for one reason, ever since tm has to lled out the game is over.
Which is--- everyone will have the same Pokémons, same movesets, similar iv, besides some legacy ones- DB/DC dragons, body slam Snorlax etc

Obviously the mechanics would play a huge factor in how you'd select your team. But I imagine it could be pretty fun to try to anticipate your friends' selections and counter them. My instinct would be to have some pain-in-the-ass bulk in there so as to force my opponent's hand. ("Too bad you just wasted so much of your Machamp's HP beating down that Blissey, because here's my Tyranitar.") Part of the fun would be putting out an unexpected mon that might be difficult to counter with the existing favorites, like a Clefable with ZH/DG.

I'm only using mon I have, so no Mewtwo.

Articuno FB/B or IB
Blissey ZH/DG or P/DG depending on mechanics
Machamp C/DP
Tyranitar B/SE or B/C
Dragonite DT/DC
Raikou VS/WC
