The Great Gen 3 Water Fast Move Shortage Crisis Problem Question

Unless something like waterfall is added when gen 3 comes, Gyarados, Kabutops, Suicune (hidden power lol), Sharpedo, Milotic, Gorebyss, Huntail, and even Kyogre(!) will all lack a water fast move.
Can we trust Niantic to do something? Can we let the games' most prominent water types be outclassed by a water-fox thing? How will this all end?

  • Make Whirlpool a fast move using Gen4 learnsets, with a .8-1.1s duration. That pushes the problem back until Pokemon Go releases Gen5. https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Whirlpool_(move)
  • Change Bubble Beam to a fast move, with a 1.8-2.3s time similar to the previous version of Bubble.
  • Ask the developers of the next main series game to add TMs and/or move tutors that can teach some of the Pokemon Go fast moves.

add waterfall and allow some of those pokemon you learned to learn it. Make it better than water gun so giving those pokemon a plus over vaporeon.

I would like to see scald appear as a fast move + the (eventual addition of status conditions)

While I also wish that status conditions were added I understand why this won't happen. I'm raiding with 80% of folks that have no clues what SE or NVE is. They want this game to be simplified so it will be. I wish it was otherwise but I understand it will never be that way and it would hurt it in a way if it was.

I feel like it's a missed opportunity to not refer to it this one as a "Drought", considering you're talking about Water.

It's just because earlier people kept making post after post about "The Great (something or other) Drought".

Whirlpool should be a water type fire spin, like in the original games, while waterfall can be a good 2 bar charge move, they should introduce some fairy type quick moves, like fairy wind or maybe even if it's a status move, sweet kiss

I was looking through fairy moves recently. Fairy Wind, Disarming Voice (changed from charge move), and Charm (non-damage move in main series, but could be changed for PoGo) would provide pretty good learnset coverage for most fairy type pokemon to be able to have a fairy fast move.
