is it worth powering up Raikou

After a few raids today, I finally have 100 IV Raikou. Is it worth powering him up? or save my stardust candies (currently have 568490)

Moveset: Thudershock, Wild Charge

100% IVs and the best moveset on likely the best electric Pokémon out right now -- I know I'd power that thing all the way up asap! Congrats on the great catch!

My second Raikou raid, (and first caught), was 100%. He's up to 2894 already, and I could take him higher right now, but I'm keeping a stash of 400 rare candies and 1 million stardust, so am only powering him up as I catch more Raikou, and or gather more rare candies past 400. Caught a couple Pinap Raikou already, so that helps.

It's somewhat frustrating when you are alternating Golden and Pinap, and it's caught on the Golden.

(yes, this is meant as a nausea inducing tongue in cheek humble brag example)

Some of the replys are so funny, 48 hours lol anyways in my opinion I would 100% max it out fully it will be just over 3300 and destroy everything even things it's NVE against run simulations vs blissey and Snorlax to check it out, I will be maxing out mine for sure and it isn't 100% iv

The only electrick-type pokemon that seems to be better than Raikou is Xurkitree, so you have some time before getting it.

Now that the birds are gone, there is not much need for an electric attacker until Suicune comes around. You could wait a bit so you can power other stuff up as you need it, or just power it up to at least 30 now.

I've obtained a total of 5 100% pokemon. A diglett, omanyte, voltorb, eevee (which unfortunately now is a umbreon) and a gyarados. Out of exactly 22,279 catches.

Considering this i find it remarkable how many people in these forums seem to have 100% legendaires.

It's not amazing in the least. Raid bosses are like hatches, they will be 100% in roughly 212 (I can't remember exactly) catches. If you're raiding with ten folks one will see a 100% one about once out of 20 raids. That's not exactly rare.

Comparing it to wild catches which are 100% about once out of 4,096 catches are not a relevant comparison.

True, it ain't relevent. it's still remarkable though.

I've seen people often miss high IV legendaries on the rare occasion they see them. But the people in these forums see them regularly and always catch them. Remarkable.

It's a selective sample you hear more often from people who get one then the ones who don't. I've done 130 odd raids and never seen one in fact only 3*95%. It's what's called positive reporting bias.
When people self report you are more likely to see an unrepresentative outcome with low probability events over reported.

Also as a side note many such posts are a form of humble brag. Were the op just needs to get it off of their chest but can't bring themselves to say 'awesome I got a perfect example of the second most useful legendary'

See my other reply further up, I tried to do humble brag to the utmost without telling a lie. It is a sport in itself.

Let's see... you managed to get the elusive 100% IV Raikou everyone is dying to get their hands on. A perfect Raikou will fully max out to 3301 CP (that takes into account the fact that you can't power up Pokemon to level 40 for some reason, but still an amazing CP). Undeniably the best Electric-type Pokemon in the game right now (Zapdos isn't too far off, but Raikou's CP is a bit higher), AND to put the cherry on top of the cake, it even had the ideal moveset, saving you the trouble of wasting TMs to get the ideal moveset.

And, you don't know if it's worth it? Really...
