Moltres > Entei

That's my opinion and I want to explain, why.
(FYI, English is not my first language)

They have both access to almost the same moveset (Entei has access to Flamethrower, but I think Overheat is better, as it does 160 damage in 4 sec. and Flamethrower only 70 in 2.2 sec., or 140 in 4.4 sec.) As they both have Fire Spin/Overheat, I can ignore the moveset aspect for comparing them. I don't see both of them as a generalist. Even if you do, I think there are much better options like Dragonite and soon Mewtwo. The best usage for them is against Steel/Grass/Ice and Bug mons. Moltres resists Steel and double resists Bug and Grass. Ice hits neutral. Entei only resists Grass/Bug/Ice/Steel in the normal way. So Moltres will perform great against Grass and Bug mons. Only if you plan to use it mostly against ice, i think Entei is superior.
Of course, Moltres has double weakness to Rock. Still I see no problem there, as it's not recommendable to use one of them against Rock anyway. Moltres has a better attack stat (and defense), but for offensive mons, I prefer a higher attack stat.

TL;DR I think Moltres is overall better. What's your opinion? Is one of my points wrong? Do you have something to add?

I've made the case that both are really good and so far neither is particularly better but Moltres may find a higher end niche since he double resists some types.

Nice breakdown, neither is particularly good now but I'm inclined to agree with you. Hopefully fire mons will be useful at some point, not worth powering up at this point.

I would not ignore the moveset.
1 extra FT covers the gap from 3 Overheat vs 6 FT. I think there will be lots of scenarios where Entei will be able to fire 5 or 7 FT as oposed to 2 or 3 OH.

Entei I'm rising has FT, Moltres has OH, just to allow for the above type of scenarios.

  1. Higher combined defense and HP can allow an attacker to stay alive longer to use more charge moves. So Moltres with higher attack will deal more damage in a shorter period, but Entei with higher HP might be able to deal more damage before it faints.

This.
High HP let the pkmn absorb energy to use for (more) charge moves.
Basically what made Vaporeon big and better than Omastar

True. But in Raids you might prefer the one with a better attack stat for fater damage and more balls. Also, don't forget the double resistance to Bug and Grass, if you use it against them, this will compensate it's lower HP.

In raids you will need more of them, so an Entei with FT will fit well alongside a Moltres with OH, especially in 2nd position that isually takes more damage from boss. So his FT will charge more often amd likely end up dealing an odd number(3,5, 7 maybe?).

Moltres=Entei
Raikou>Zapdos
Suicine<Vaporeon.

Just about sums up the beasts place in the meta.

I don't understand the point when you say that Moltres is going to be better than Entei against Metagross. Maybe it will get something like Hammer Arm which gives to Moltres a good advantage comparatively to Entei, but it's not sure.

I think Moltres could be a bit better than Entei, but I will probably get one of each at level 39.

No, flying type does not resist to steel type, but fire type does. So Entei and Moltres resist steel type the same way.

Nice analysis! Also even if you want a specialist against ice, the most relevant is against Articuno, since neither is particularly good against Lapras (or any other ice that might have water moves). So that further narrows the field of likely opponents to Bug/Grass/Steel, favoring Moltres' double-resistance in 2 of the 3 cases.

Good Post I agree but mainly because I have a 100% Moltres that I'm looking for reasons to max out lol

Moltres > Entei for the cases vs grass, bug and steel types.

Entei > Moltres for the case vs ice type.

How hard can that be? Only 2 lines would summarize everything.
