Dogs vs. Birds
I've been hesitant to power up my Moltres and Zapdos mostly because of the possibility of Entei and Raikou being released. Now that they are confirmed, I'd like to share my first impressions and hear if people think the dogs or birds are a better use of stardust.
First of all, the dogs both have ~100 CP more than the birds. However, the flying type is useful in some matchups. Since legendaries will never be on defense, the flying type isn't a big liability in any matchup. For Zapdos, the flying type doesn't help in the usual use cases (vs. water, flying), but for Moltres the flying type reduces damage taken from both grass and bug types, which are two of the four use cases (vs. bug, grass, steel, ice). Additionally, while Moltres and Entei have the same optimal moveset (fire spin/overheat), Raikou has a better charge move than Zapdos (Wild Charge vs. Thunderbolt). This makes me think that Raikou will be strictly better than Zapdos, but that Entei and Moltres will share the stage as the best fire types in the game.

Allow Zapdos to reach its potential by giving better moves.
why goddamm limit a LEGENDARY BIRD of all things...by its moves !? it seems like such a crappy reason for it being 'worse' or 'less valuable' than something else.
Its held back due to its one and only fast move ? and limited charge move pool. just why.
For some it is about timing.
Zapdos is the best current counter to Suicune...by a long way.
As Suicune is being rolled out in my region first I need something to counter it in case it has Snarl.
Waiting for Raikou is not an option.
Sure, if I got Raikou first then I could wait and power that up instead...but while I wait for that to finally arrive, I need a decent electric with solid bulk - and Zapdos is the closest thing to fit that description. Jolteon will be too fragile, dependant on the size of the raid party.
It could be 2 months before I even see Raikou, so I have plenty of time to replenish my stardust in time.
Based on factors outside of moves/typing, there can be a valid justification for some to power up Zapdos.

They have changed 'Snarl' to 'Hidden Power', and so a full team of grass is an option now (just hope it doesn't have Ice Hidden Power).
Zapdos will still be an very good option into Suicune.
