The last weekend before legendaries are gone and many of us can't get on PTC!

Why is everyone freaking out over it? I'm nearly level 38 and I've never used it. Did I miss out on something?

It has to work in order for us to log in and play.

That is because you're using gmail.

Lol. Some players just have no idea. BTW, Niantic really knows how to ruin our PoGO days. I was gonna spend this weekend for legendary raids. And now there's a tropical storm roaring outside and PTC has been down for hours. ;(

PTC isn't run by PoGo or Niantic.

Of course they didn't. ^^ I just want to talk about the perfect combination of server being down and storm roaring so that I have more free time to spend with my family.

Even though PTC servers is not under Niantic's management but Niantic owns the game so they need to address any problems and fix them instead of being silent and punishing a good part of their players (as always).

Probably not the best business decision to do this the weekend before legendary birds are gone? Idiots I swear running this company

Yep. AFAIR, they did this before the gym rework and some times before that. I don't mind if they can get rid of cheaters (which I know they can but don't want to for some reasons). ;(

It's down but has nothing to do with niantic it's the PTC servers. They handle the logins than connect to niantic unless you use gmail which still works fine proving niantic servers are working fine.

It's also down for the Trading Card Game...

I used to play that for the 4 years before PoGo and it happened just as often...

But we got free stuff when it happens at times...

I'd like 1 Fast TM and 1 Charge TM...

Same here - Central Europe. We have finally gathered tohether for Lugia and most of us can't log in. Some of us needed a one hour car drive to come. :(

Why would anyone use the PTC if they don't have to? it seems like you're just involving an extra step in login?

It's the same number of steps. Just that google handles logins better, more reliable. Once you make a PTC account you can't switch it to a google account.

At this point, no one probably wants to use PTC accounts.

I started with PTC since I had tons of coins/booster packs from that game and figured there maybe some benefit being a PTC player.

I also didn't want Google to even know more things with me even though they probably know everything already...

I am working in gov office and everything related to Google is going to be officially banned. My android phone Samsung is stripped of most Google apps. So PTC.

Also because kids under age 13 cannot have Google accounts (or any other social-media account such as Facebook etc.), whereas PTC accounts can be managed by parents so that identity info of kids under 13 remains confidential.

PTC is down in Asia too (Bangkok in my case) worked well this morning but crashed around 5PM here (5AM USA east coast).

Niantic should find a way to let us to migrate to Google so they can put PTC in its coffin and bury it away for good!

Hopefully Niantic would extend the bird raids for a day or two as compensation, just like how they extended the fire/ice event.

I understand things happen but why not acknowledge it quickly through twitter or a release with a timeline for people to plan days raids etc instead of just being in the dark constantly

The PTC is down now for over four (4) hours ... and no "official" news about it, that's like "banana-republic" enterprise policy.

4:20 am Vietnam time. Can't log in so it's like PTC servers has been down for 12 hours. Gonna lose my streak and also my chance to join legendary raids. ;(

Edit: The PTC servers are up again at 7.00 am Vietnam time. I missed my daily routine anyway.

No, I'm taking a bus to the biggest city in my country. If the PTC servers are down again, I'll be in the situation where I waste so much time and energy and also some $. This BS needs to stop already. -_-
