Finding a use for the unloved

I like to make use of a range of Pokemon, but there are always some that were useful when starting out, but just aren't that useful once you get up a few levels.

I didn't think I'd ever find a use for Voltorb, but my friendly gym had just had a 1100 Aerodactyl dropped in as it's lowest defender by a lvl17 player, with a lvl20 player having a 1695 Vaperon as the next tier up.

I struggled to work out what to prestige it with, when I remembered a pair of 1057 Voltorbs - their low cp was perfect and they easily dealt with both.

Any unloved Pokes that you've suddenly found a use for. Perfect prestigers?

Anything with a fast quick move to allow efficient dodging is more useful than CP and tier lists would suggest. So there's always that.

I just keep everything above 1000 cp and use them as fillers. I've found it's way faster to just keep going whenever a gym battle is over rather than carefully choosing you team for each fight. Ain't nobody got time for that. Fillers, my friend. Fillers.

You just answered it yourself.

perfect prestigers

My stock can perfectly manage all kind of gyms by getting max. prestige. From 500cp up to maximum. I keep pokes for all situations.

Raticate with Bite/hyper beam!

I've got a full compliment of Bite/Hyper Beam Raticates from 450 to 1100 CP. I've been saving and evolving Rattatas with Attack as their highest stat specifically for this purpose. I use them as my backups or if I don't have a super effective attacker for training.

I tend to find creative uses for my ~1k 'second tier' pokemon as well, examples like:

985CP Bug Bite/Xscissor Parasect for Exeggutor
946CP Bugbite/Bugbuzz Butterfree for Exeggutor
1062CP Spark/Thunderbolt Electrode for Gyarados
905CP Spark/Thunder Raichu for Gyarados
1230CP Vinewhip/Solar Tangela for Vaporeon
1119CP Ember/Flamethrower Ninetales for Grass types

Does very well for prestiging indeed, the Raichu in particular can take down 2k-2.5k Gyaradoses with that boss moveset. The bugs also rip any 2k-Sub 2k exeggutors.

For gyms that I expect a high turnover, I'll take my throwaway pokemon that I've caught or evolved that may have a bad moveset, or are just plain useless, and rename them Gym. Slot them into a gym spot I've created, or a gym I captured. When they get killed, I transfer them rather than revive/heal. Yesterday it was my 1700 CP Acid/Moonblast Vileplume.

Also, sometimes unevolved pokemon will fit nicely in the CP range for prestiging, where if you evolved them, they would not. An example of this is my
Sandshrew CP 1016 Mud shot / Dig
which is good against a 20?? Arcanine.
That plus as he's level 30 98 IV wild caught, I don't want to ditch him!

I think you mean an Electrode, right?

Personally I love using Raticate (Bite + Hyper Beam) or especially Pidgeot (Wing Attack + Hurricane) to prestige against Exeggutors, apart from all the bugs of which I keep nice collections.
Against Vaporeons I absolutely love using my collection of 10 Tangelas with Vine Whip + Solar Beam, they tear them apart so easily! And Seadra with Dragon Breath + Blizzard is one of my favourites to battle Dragonites.
I recently found that Marowak (Mud Slap + Earthquake) does surprisingly great against Fire types too.

Overall, I would say that no pokemon gets no love in my collection... apart from Dugtrio maybe haha

Seaking, Fearow, and Persian are the once I'm having the hardest time finding a use for. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Fearow is one of the very few I can't find any use for. I tried one with Peck + Aerial Ace against Grass types, but even then it's just terrible. He's too weak.

Persian with Scratch + Play Rough, though, is pretty fun to prestige against lower level Dragonites imo. And I have a Seaking with Poison Jab + Megahorn that does actually well against Exeggutors!

Yes Seaking isn't dreadful with the right moveset - handy for Eggy and Slowbro.

Oh and I think Fearow makes Dugtrio seem exciting :-)

Sorry yes Electrode.

Try powering one of those Tangelas up. I keep five unpowered but one I upped and makes a great Vape attacker.

I have already powered my best one up!

Tangela has actually become one of my favourite mons to use in this game lol. She's great indeed - I love how she's so cute and fluffy, until she wiggles her ass a little bit and a huge solar beam comes out of nowhere to obliterate the Vape that's in front of her. Tangela is a boss.

I kept everything above 90% iv... for the unevolved ones, like a 600 cp 96%iv bulbasaur, i love to use it to kill cp 1200 vapereons to work for prestige, i get 1000 prestige per kill, easy to get my gym to level 10
