are premium passes worth it anymore?

so this morning small group ttar raid all potions and revives (and the catch was only 2020cp) no goldens, no tms, no rare candy (earlier this morning machamp solo did get me better stuff admittedly)

yesterday gengar + 3 tier 5's and bugger all to show for it (other then a second 15/14/14 zapo)

with the dilution of the reward pool RNG plays a bigger hand meaning the lucky might have seen little difference but the unlucky are getting suckered.

on a side whinge 111 total raids and only ever been offered a 95%+ catch on 3 occasions (that is almost half the expected rate of 1/20) starting to get shity.

Premium passes are far from worth it now...at least to me.
Especially when you have a large chance of not even catching the mon in question.
Basically, we end up paying money for a handful of items we could have got by simply spending the time spinning stops instead of standing still spending real money on raiding.

I used to raid something, even if I had a team of that particular mon, simply because it was worth my time and effort - now it isn't worth the time or effort...let alone the money.

EDIT On a side note, sorry for taking more than my share of 90+ IV

I don't know... getting cr@p hatches from eggs is just as bad as a raid boss fleeing. Maybe worse. And even if you hatch something good, it's unevolved.

To me, raid passes are still better than incubators. That said, I'm holding off on using premium passes until the bosses rotate.

Are they better than incubators? Yes, maybe, but not if you are looking for dust. Are they worth it at this point? Not at all.

Niantic is trying to trick us with Mewtwo, making people raid like crazy for literally useless rewards hoping they get a Mewtwo invite just because they have 200 raids and free players only have 50. Not gonna happen, everyone will get their invite and Niantic will be laughing at their offices with the crazy money they are making with premium pases.

Trust me, everyone will get their Mewtwo invite, so save your premium passes for better times, they will have to revert the loot back if they see sales going down like they should with the nerf.

I have 25 of them after this discounted boxes, not gonna use a single one until the rewards are worth it. During the last week I have got exactly 0 TM's, just something around 12-15 rare candies and 12-15 berries from 10+raids, all of them legendary, so I won't use a single more premium pass to get 25 super potions (that was all my loot from the last legendary yesterday), a big joke.

I wouldn't buy any more at this point, and I'm not even using them right now, just the free ones. But I'm also sitting on a couple dozen from the special boxes and I don't regret spending my coins on them instead of incubators. I have a good reserve of stardust, and most of what I want to power up are done. I got to level 36 without giving Niantic a penny and I'm not bitter toward them like so many other people are. The way I see it I've had a year+ of playing a fun game for free.

If anything raids make it way too easy. Level 5 players can easily get a great fully evolved ttar without much effort. It took me a heck of a lot of effort for my first one. I think people have been spoiled by the riches raids bring.

In any case, the premium raid passes will have a use in the future, and this game has always been a game of patience imo.

"whinge" ... lol, I haven't seen or heard that word for years! Thumbs up.

... but yeah, to me, since the dilution of rewards, using or buying Premium Raid Passes isn't worth it anymore unless you need a particular Legendary or Tyranitar.

I'm holding on to mine until the Raid Boss shuffle, Mewtoo and the Beasts.

First time I heard the word "whinge" was on the Game of Thrones episode just past Sunday when The Hound accused Gendry of "whinging".

Same me too.
Gendry: I'm not whinging
Hound: your lips are moving and complaining, that's whinging
lol

I have also lost motivation for now. Only did one raid yesterday and got no candies at all.

I mean it all depends, they are are still a better
Option than incubators because you can get unique rewards with them.

But if you don't feel like raiding more than once per day, save your coins.

Incubators are still one of best ways to collect stardust.
A collection of high IV mons from raids, with a whole heap of candy are nearly useless without stardust.

At this stage, most serious players would already have the mons, and the candy and just need the stardust to make things actually useful.

What use is a TM for a lvl20 mon, without stardust to power it up?

Personally, I am starting to think that incubators will be far more useful than raid passes when I look at what to spend my coin on.

Already started buying a few incubators just for the stardust rather than premium passes a couple days ago, lol

So, you are right. There's nothing left in the likely drops worth a premium pass. Very glad I saved a ton of exclusive drops from the good times.

And exactly what you said, without stardust it's all worthless.

If you don't like grinding mons and already have a good supply of rare candy, incubators might be a better investment.

I don't mind the grind and bought the raid pass bundles and have a large supply of both dust and rare candy.

I don't mind the grind either, except at the moment it is winter here, so the weather is not conducive.
Doing the grind with a full load of incubators just makes my dust hunt more efficient...I still need to walk the eggs.

That said, even with a full grind, stardust is the limiting factor for powering up what I want to.
I have (powerful) teams for every raid out there, and thanks to raids I have candidates to improve my line ups - I have the candy to power up anything I want.
The candy I refer to comes from the grind (900 geodude candy for example), not from raids, even though I do have a stash of raid candy too, I have more than enough 'normal' candy that requires dust to become useful.

I DO understand that Niantic want to place some kind of limit on what we can power up - but raids dictate that we need to power up more mons than ever before.
My point is that at the moment the limiting factor is clearly stardust, which makes incubators far more desirable than raid passes...simply for the dust.

Incubators provide a guaranteed desirable reward...raids no longer do.

It depends on how much raids you've done and if you had enough people in your area, etc...

I have no issues spending a premium pass on a legendary raid or Tyranitar raid myself.

I still need to get a half decent (90%+) Legendary as well as an army of Tyranitars...I still do Karp raids too (on the free pass)...

I have a fair amount of dust (600k+) and have stocked up on premium passes as well (20+) from my old gym coin sitting days...(all storage maxed as well...) so for me, raids are still worth the time if I can find enough people to do them...

Not worth it anymore for me.
I used to spend on premium passes but not anymore after the recent nerf to the rewards.

It is simply not worth it considering the time/effort spent going to the raid venue, waiting to gather enough trainers and in the end what we get are mostly potions and revives (all of which we can simply get from pokestops).
Furthermore the capture rate of raid boss is so low as well.

I do raids mainly because of the rare candies, golden razz & TMs.
And if can manage to capture the raid boss that will be even better.

But now none of these are present anymore.
So no more premium passes anymore until things improve
