Which Pokemon do you hope will get better moves?

If there is another move re-balance in Gen 3, which Gen 1/2 Pokemon(s) do you guys hope will get better movesets?
Please include at least 1 non-legendary.

For me, it's Gyarados, Jolteon, Kabutops.

Kingler, High attack he should really be considered a viable glass cannon. If he had a decent double water moveset, i think because he is that easy to get lower levels that somehow don't have vape have him.

To put one that isn't obvious: Golduck. Some things can't be saved. Only way to try would be to have 3 fast moves and/or future sight. Double Water, double psychic, double ice. A shame b/c I have 500 candies.

I hope they end up balancing some of the moves themselves. It is terrible that some moves are strictly better than others and there is no arguing either way. Examples:
Future Sight > Psychic
Overheat > Fire Blast
Solar Beam > Petal Blizzard

I'm sure there are others but doing something like give Fire Blast a faster cooldown and changing Psychic and Petal Blizzard back to 2 bar moves would be a big improvement.

Outrage > Dragon Pulse
Hurricane > Brave Bird
Dynamic Punch > Close Combat
For the last one, DP does 90% of CC's damage for half the energy, but slightly longer cooldown.

I really like this idea. Change Psychic to a 2 bar move and make it just a little less DPS than Future Sight and let the player decide if they want long charge hard hitters or dodge weave fast hitter

They could also introduce a tick. So like Fireblast does less damage but will do Burn damage for the next 5 seconds. Hell yea.

If they made all moves equal then what's the point?

I do agree with psychic and petal blizz needing to be 2-bars tho

With TMs now in the game it makes no sense to have moves that are always worse in every situation. I think the idea is to make every move useful in some situation so the player can actually use strategy. Currently, there is no reason to keep Psychic rather than Future Sight (no situation where it's better). Give us at least one situation where Psychic is better (either give it a faster cooldown or 2 bars).

I can see your points here and I'm def good with all moves being "useful", but not "equal".

At the very least, they need to keep those moves off the same pokemon. Moltres having all three of the 100 energy fire moves that are so similar is the marquee example of this problem.

Eggy: give it confusion back.
Ampharos: 2 bar electric charge move.

I want to see Earthquake (and other ground attacks) buffed. Ground attackers are so slow and underpowered. This would go a long way to helping that out.

I always thought Earthquake was on par with Solar Beam in attack aspects. Never looked into that in the game just having Nidoqueen with Earthquake in the original, She killed everything and anything. Earthquake was the go to move in the original. should be atleast 140 Power.

It is Mud-Slap that needs to be buffed.

And looking ahead at future ground pokemon, we need another ground fast move. I'm in favor of retiring Sand Tomb as a charge move and making it into a new fast move around 1.1s long.

Onix: -Tackle, +Sand Tomb
Steelix: -Dragon Tail, +Sand Tomb
Gligar: -Fury Cutter, +Sand Tomb
Trapinch: Bite, Sand Tomb
Vibrava, Flygon: Dragon Breath, Sand Tomb

OP, what's wrong with Jolteon's movesets?

True this, Thundershock/Thunder Bolt is the best overall electric moveset isn't it?

Wild Charge is strictly better than Thunderbolt but Thunderbolt is itself a very good move. I can only assume OP's standing point as such.

I'm okay with that as long as there are no pokemon that can learn both Thunderbolt and Wild Charge. That is the problem with moves like Heat Wave/Fire Blast/Overheat being too similar.

Different issue... but it sure would be nice if there was some use for the obviously weaker mons like there used to be with "prestige". OK, I understand it was not a part of other games. But there are going to be 386 mons in this game. We'll need about 50 maybe. There might be 6 we never see (Regionals etc.). The other 330 are going to be mostly junk.

I would argue from a powering up standpoint no more than 20 unique species are critical or vitally useful.

All the rest are self inspired projects. The number may be a few more in busier areas and a few less in less competitive areas.

In truth we are now searching for or using these few Pokes...to get the next few Pokes from raids....to get the next few Pokes from raids.

I'd like to see Aerodactyl get better moves. Its awful that such a cool mon has only crappy movesets available to it!

It would be kinda cool to be able to get double type moves on all mons especially those with double typing. I'm thinking particularly Tentacruel - poison and water split moves are pretty useless.

Poison good against grass & bad against ground/rock
Water bad against grass & good against ground/rock

I would like Tyranitar to get a better Dark special move. Maybe a 2 bar like Foul Play or even a new 1 bar move.

I like Kabutops' mud shot / ancient power combo. Pretty useful when I have suboptimal teams to deal with some raids, and useful for gyms when I'm cheaping on revives. Might be good to swap his bug-type move for a rock one though.

I am hoping Rhydon gets mud shot as an alternative to mud slap, because there's not much use for Rock Smash except maybe on Blissey/Snorlax. Or as others say, if they'd buff Mud Slap, that would be good too. Or they could at least give Rhydon the chance to also hold 2 rock moves instead of a fighting move and a rock move.
