Mewtwo lineup amongst these guys?

I am starting to assemble a Mewtwo squad like many others. Which would be your starting line-up from these guys:

CP Level IV (A-D-S) Pokemon Fast Charge
3172 31 14-14-14 Tyranitar Bite Stone Edge
3112 30 14-14-13 Tyranitar Bite Stone Edge
3087 30 10-15-15 Tyranitar Bite Stone Edge
3063 30 15-14-15 Dragonite Dragon Tail Hurricane
3018 35,5 15-11-12 Gyarados Bite Crunch
2381 30 15-13-14 Scizor Fury Cutter X-Scissor
2375 30,5 15-13-14 Pinsir Bug Bite X-Scissor
2278 29 12-6-11 Alakazam Psycho Cut Shadow Ball
2220 30 13-15-14 Gengar Hex Shadow Ball
2115 30 14-9-14 Houndoom Snarl Foul Play
1912 28 11-11-6 Houndoom Snarl Crunch

Bear in mind that I would power up the Szicor to L31,5 to reach the break-point for Fury Cutter in this match-up.

do you have more dragonites or gyarados?

Your dark arsenal seems pretty sorted for the psychic and shadow ball variants, but with FB you really want to be rocking dragonites or Gary's.

I do have a 91% att15 Dragonite with DT/Hu at L20, so would need to pour some dust into that one.

As for Gary - I'm sitting on 1700+ candy, but have been waiting to catch a high IV + high level Magikarp to save on the dust.

With 1700 candies, I wouldn't be too picky about IVs. If you have a L28+ magikarp with OK stats, it maybe worth evolving.

Do you mind soloing Alakazam with your lineup? Maybe you can tell us which group is better for which movesets since you do have the potential team?

The Alakazam solo lineup either goes 6 Gengar for psycho cut variants or 6 Tyranitar for confusion variants. Nothing else is quick enough.

What you have said is just in theory. You have to do the raid yourself and practice. I have tried it and even with the same team, Kazam may have 10% or 20% left depending on how well you do. Also, practicing dodge is crucial especially with Gengers.
In a nutshell, you can have all the max out Tyranitar/Gengars all you want, at the end of the day, it all depends on how well you do the raid.

No i have tried it myself. I didn't succeed (5% left) but partly due to me having 4 tyranitar and only 1 has crunch. Dodge glitch also didn't help, Alakazam had confusion so I couldn't use any gengar.

Definitely sure if all 4 had bite crunch its very doable. (I fought confusion and future sight)

The 'nothing else is quick enough' is factual though, there is no other option to solo alakazam.

How high would you level-up Houndoom? I have two, but neither is worth leveling up (unless I want to get two to level 30).

Houndoom
1. Danzig
Snarl/Foul Play
S4/A14/D8 57.8%
2043 CP, Level 30

  1. Lemmy
    Snarl/Foul Play
    S5/A7/D12 53.3%
    1812 CP, Level 27

I have tried Alakazam with Confusion too and i find that you can definitely use Gengar. You just have to practice how to dodge. You need to dodge even the quick move too. If you can dodge well, you should be able to solo Alakazam with confusion or at least better than 5%.

Man I would kill for more than two of my fellow raidmates to have half of that.

That's actually my problem too. Very few in my small town are above L30 (I'm L37 and by far the highest) and most players are weak on pokemon theory, so I have to usually carry us quite a lot. Therefore I'm trying to optimize my team.

I'm in a very similar situation and I came to a conclusion.

It doesn't matter what moveset Mewtwo has, I'm running 6-8 mons at least. Of them, most don't do much better than Tyranitar even if it has FB, especially if it has confusion. So I'm going to just run a mix of my best stuff. I can go 12+ deep in super counters if needed. But if it can't be done it won't be because of my crew. To be honest I think our group will have as tough a time against shadow ball as FB, if not tougher.

Just to be safe I got 2 more Tyranitars today, giving me 9. Five at 3000 to 3150 and 4 at level 20. That and I needed some candy (and golden razz). If you see one as a raid boss, grab a few players and you'll likely be able to knock it down. I've caught 6 of past 7, I only use nanabs

Wow I'm impressed. You will crush Mewtwo or do roughly as well as other teams against 7-8 movesets

Edit to add: The problem of Tyranitars isn't mine. I have 5 maxed of my 16 with 200 candy. It's just not worth it for me to go much further since my raidmates will either step up or we will all go without

I'm also sporting 9 Dragons over lv 35 with dragon moves

In a residential area of a big city, I get on discord and I talk people into getting there better than most (I use sentences and I'm willing to be the first one at a gym and recruit from there). I tried to bonus catch someone's for them...they were level 22, no dark type catch bonus, no nanab berries, ??? at the top of the boss. Missed it, I started feeling like it was my first encounter

That's good to do. I'm also the raid organizer/official advisor for my area. They are a mostly good group of folks of varying ranges with a few very interested and attentive trainers, a good number of willing and improving folks that aren't there yet but trying, and a third group (very small) of rather worthless tag alongs.
