Ultimate Gym Defense team
Which Pokemon would consist of the ultimate team to defend a gym? And in what order would they need to be put in to make it the most trouble to take down. I know it doesn't really matter bc you only want mons in gyms for 8 hrs anyway but was just think hypothetically.

Nah Blissey need to be first so you get notified that it is low on health before anyone is actually knocked out of the gym. Also to prevent attackers from just taking out the gym one pokemon at a time.
Blissey, Slowbro, Chansey, Slowking, Snorlax, Hypno/Exeggutor
(Makes it so they have to keep switching their machamps)
Agree. Also if the rest of the players in the gym can focus solely on feeding Blissey and nothing else with constant monitoring with the new "Go to Gym feature" , you can literally last as long as you don't run out of resources.
Speaking from 1st hand experience. Moved to a larger city and placed a 3048 CP (15/14/14 A/D/S) Blissey with ZH/DG in 1 of 2 gyms in the local mall. Mall easily gets a few thousand customers walking in and out a day so the possibility of players playing PoGo is moderate cause there are also multiple Stops within it ad well. I held it down solo for over 2 days. I say solo cause my Pokemon was the only one with a number higher than 0 for Victories while Defending. It really never lost a battle because the motivation never dropped 1/3 from the result of losing a battle. More than likely everyone attempting to take it down timed out. Only the decay rate allowed the CP to drop.Ended being close to 30 before I lost track of time and failed to Golden Berry it right before closing time one night.
Those 2 gyms are always alternating through your the day until some of the players that work there take it down right before the mall closes so they can maintain it til the mall reopens the next day. I only know this because of a Zapdos Raid that happened there and I overheard a player mention that.
One other thing I like to do is put the counter of the counter next in line, so if I fall right behind a Blissey, I'll throw a Psychic with Confusion to try and get 2 hits before the attacker has to switch out more than likely their Machamp. I play with my wife so this is the route we choose when dropping in gyms.
If I place one of my VS/DC Jolteons, my wife will place a Water Pulse Vaporeon.
Some you just have to sort of gamble. If she puts in an Espeon, I'll usually go Flareon if not Machamp. Just depends what's already in the gym.
2800CP+ vapreons with aqua tail is always somewhat annoying taking down. Even if zapdos is released and everything.
Ties down one electric type in your attacking team and has decent stamina and decent damage output.
Eggs confusion is also a pain in the ass.
Maybe this team:
Blissey ZH DG
Snorlax ZH HS/BS*
Vape WG AT
Egg C* SeedB
Lapras IS*/IB
Chansey ZH DG
*Legacy
High level ZHDG blissey at first, rest no matter
Golden berry her every time when seeing her got beaten twice. If other smart gymmates corporate, they will help feeding her as well to help defending theirs. Most attackers will back off. Can stay up for long even in a crazy competitive area like where I live.
