I would say expect the worst with Niantic ALWAYS, then hope for the better. Yes, they are stupid enough, they have showed it in the past sooo many times. So my guess is that they are that incompetent that maybe all the past legendary raids are not counting to Mewtwo invites, maybe we don't even get our badges fixed. I have done around 50 legendary raids too, not spend much money, 10€ + almost all I have saved from previous months, but I think that 50 raids will not ever count towards my medals or my chances of getting a Mewtwo. I really think they will start counting by this week or the week before mewtwo gets released, probably only August.

I have learned the hard way to not expect much with this company, the most recent stupid change for me, Mewtwo nerf before being released.

And yes, I am pretty annoyed, their announcements are getting worse and worse, vague, with no crucial information being said, they are trying to create more hype, but they are so blind that they don't know that the game does not need more hype, we the players and the community create the hype, and a lot of us are mad and confused with the Mewtwo announcement. In a AR where time and location are so important, you can't fail that miserably to explain details on probably the most important announcement since game released, there is not a single player in the world that was not waiting for Mewtwo.

And if Niantic wait a few months before releasing the birds again then other people will be annoyed because maybe they were on holiday the week their favourite bird was available and now they can't get it.

At the end of the day Niantic never lied and if you thought that the birds were never going to come back then maybe you should have thought a bit more logically.

Same as with the prolongued double-everything-event:

They told us to do a sprint. We did a sprint. When finished sprinting, we were told to continue running, marathon is not over yet.
Exactly the same applies to the birds.

Good way to make people that take this game to serious rage quit.

Take it easy. Mewtwo will be available to everyone as much as you want. Niantics wants to earn as much money as possible and making Mewtwo raids unavailable is not compatible with that project.

Well, it is ones own decission to still work their ass off to catch some birds or try to get the most out of any event. No one forces us to play.

So if they say "Continue running, marathon is not over yet." I just give them the finger and enjoy the real world and real life. I got what I wanted from the bird event (which is two of each birds) and if someone is greedy and thinks he needs more or better then please go ahead but do not complain. 'cause it's your own decision.

Well, Niantic doesn't force you to pay or play to get legendary birds.. You can go one raid every day for the supposed week and still catch at least 1 legendary.. I supposed why Niantic put the legendary birds out longer than expected is because not many people have the chance to do legendary raid every day.. So Niantic is giving these people some chance to catch them..

Don't be so selfish to deny these people to catch a legendary Pokemon... Not everyone has the time to go for legendary raids every single day.. Even if they do, they might not have enough people for it.. So this longer duration might give them better chance to obtain one.. Be more understanding and enjoy the game.. Don't burned yourself out over a game... cheers

I raid in the same area parks and try to be a familar face in them (better than waiting a long time in a parking lot). Concerned people that drive and scatter all around will get 5 attempts or more and I might get 2.

It could happen like you are saying, they can't keep track of gym control for bonus balls...really doubt they can keep track of the totality of the raids you've done

Where did they say that birds would ONLY be available for a week? I never saw that... and I imagine a statement like that would have caused quite a stir.

Did you really ever believe that the birds would be only available the one week in the history of a game that is designed to run for at least the next 4 years?

Do you believe that you will only get one go at mewtwo and that's it?

I'll translate "recently" for you to the best of my reasoning: active players since the raid system was released. So, anyone who played in the last few weeks/months will get an invitation.

Btw, many people out there still need the birds. You should be grateful for the opportunity that Niantic is giving to everyone. It seems to me that they are trying not to leave anyone behind...

A least the nerf occurred prerelease as you know you'd complain way harder if you farmed mewtwo and then it got nerfed

Don't sweat it, don't get burned out now, we still got 500 more pokemons to come in the future. Relax and raid...though that said, everytime Niantic failed to give more information, it turned out better for the players. More legendary birds gives people more chances to catch them, sudden extended events give people more time to cash in on much needed stardusts and what not. Yes, expect the worse with this company, but when you do that, it cannot get any worse. As bad as the Mewtwo exclusive raid sounds, when it does come out it might not turn out as bad. Maybe you are given a day of prior notice and then another 24 hrs, or even 10 hrs time to go find and catch it.

So unless they're done making money off pokemon go it is not in their interest to piss off more players, as if they haven't pissed off enough people already.

They extend their events more often than not. I think a lot of us expected that the birds would stick around. I also have no more need for them but like the TMs and rare candies.

I'm just going to wait for the ppl to complain about not having time to catch mewtwo and then I'll swoop in for when they make things easier lol

Don't know about where you live, but here there are a lot less raids than normal going on, even compared with pre-legendary raid rates. All four birds are available, but only a few times for each bird scattered throughout the day. For the people that haven't gotten one of the birds yet, it will still be possible but much harder than when there were two or three available per hour.
