What's everyone's role in your local group

Though there are a thousand things I don't like about Niantic, I gotta admit that since the Raid System came to live I met many new fiends when raiding and we have been growing our business. I figure that everyone who plays legitimately is more or less the same.
So I'm curious, what's your role in your local (Raid) group? Are you a:

Leader/organizer: who started the group, recruits new members, coordinates Raids, gives prep talk, etc. For example, JHVS; Technical support: who answers all sorts of questions like "which Pokémon should I use" "does the Nanab Berry trick work" "is this a good moveset", and sometimes offers help to catch the Boss since you have excellent throwing skills. Can be the same person as 1; Silent Wise Man: who knows as much as the Technical Support but doesn't talk much, just receives notification from the organizer, be there, finishes the Raid and walks away without talking much; Newbie: who's new to the group, doesn't know anyone except maybe the organizer.

And also,
1) What's your group size?
2) Which platform do you use to communicate? Facebook? Discord? WhatsApp? Or anything else?

Leader/Prof.

We have about 30 regulars and a bunch of tourists in my area. We use a discord page to keep in touch. Pretty much all of the regulars know what they're doing. A few of the older crew sometime ask for refreshers on type advantage. We have a couple of leader types but one always gives some spoofers the signal too! Some local drama in my scene.

About 4 regular raiders, one def leader who's level 39. I think I'm like a dependable camp mother lol. We can muster 7-12 for the birds

I am by no means a "technical" expert, but always strive to have best possible line up, always communicate, turn up on time and involved in chats/discussions. I would consider myself a committed team player for raids. :)also, since I'm a mum to 4 grown children and most of our raid group are young, I feel a bit like "mother".

We have a group of 140 legitimite players. 3x lv. 39 (including me) 1x lv. 40 and bunch of others. Mostly around lv 33. Typically stronger levels are leaders and profs.

We also try to keep our group clean. So when we recognize a spoofer we cancel a raid, wait and set a private group. We also permaban them from our FB page and messenger.

I am lucky that we have this amout of players in a city of 100k in the middle of europe. But really "hc" players could be count on the fingers of one hand. :)

Mix of 2 and 3. I engage others and like to make sure everyone is ready (and knows not to use Blissey's :) But I don't force my opinions on others. We have formed some pretty good friendships, where before we were all strangers. It's been good.

Our group has grown from maybe a couple dozen or so when raids started, to a couple hundred now. We have a very active discord group, with new members every day. It's gotten to where several of the old timers (if you can call a month or so old time), talk about splintering off to something less bureaucratic. There is no shortage of trainers to do raids with. Makes me feel bad for people in places where it's hard to get groups together. I've travelled to much bigger cities where it's difficult to get trainers together. There just doesn't seem to be enough cooperation in those places.

I. Tech support :); and also constant top personal damage :).
II. Leader/tech suppport for raid challenges: organized 3 succesfull Moltres on 3, one failed( but have now 2nd chance) Zapdos in 3; one succesfull Zapdos on 4 only with Valors, working on a 6 Lugia just with Valor. Initially I wanted just with Valor for all this challenges but for Zapdos in 3 I needed the 2 top blue players :). And the other 2 factions accepted the challenges but did not manage to get organized to try them. So I use some to other small team challanges :).
Working on Tyra in 3, Snorlax in 3 and probably Arti in 4(or 5 if proves to hard).

III. Facebook messenger chat group, more than 100 people, but we also have a core of 2 Valor, 4 Instinct and 8 Mystic. But no one had more than 3 big Golems except myself with 3 from start and 4 now and a 5th lvl 30 so no chance of duo Moltres.

This proved my guess: GamePresssers are mostly leaders and tech support in their group :)

We are about 20 experienced and more than 100 Newbee-Players.
We are organized via Whats App.

3 matches perfectly for me. - mostly

There is a group of players who make me really angry: Players who do marginally contribute to raid damage but compensate this with pseudo-wise talking. Those players yesterday managed to turn my role from wise man to angry man:

One kid (13 Years old, level 25) tried to explain me that "We" (he and others) managed to kill a moltres in a group of six. I explained him, that obviously a group of five killed moltres and he mainly leeched. He sayd "Not very kind of you", but maybe he understood.

Hopefully, i find stability to be wise man in the background again. It is sometimes hard.

Regards BB

I think he did knew even before but just wanted to feel good bragging to you he was part of a party of 6 beating Moltres.
What did you or him gained from you lecturing him that he was a leech :)?
Probably a more relaxed approach would have been just to ask him what personal damage bonus did he get after that fight :).

When we have more than ten people in Raid and as a result I can't keep track of who uses what Pokémon, I just ask while battling "whose Blissey is that" and some participants would laugh together with me. Sometimes one will admit "it's mine, didnt have time to select" and other time no one answers but one thing is sure: next time I see less Blissey.
Key is make them feel shameful xd

This is the next point. I put a high level blissey in last slot. Those newbee-leechers start to complain about my blissey. They did not notice my 3 high level golems, nor my 2 high level dragonites who i put forcefully into fight before. Of course I get my 3 Damage balls anyway, i have contributed my part, but i am forced to defend my position.

Sometimes it is hard to keep calm. Maybe i need more beer in advance. Unfortunately, i do not like beer...

Next time stick a Vape or Rhydon, no one will comment :). And if I read pokebattler right(number of deaths), they will last better than blissey

Later edit: I'm wrong, blissey still resists more. I shpuld compute number of deaths/300 seconds. There Blissey is still the undisputed queen :).

If this bothers you so much dont put a blissey at the #6 rather put another high attack mon in. Once all your first six are knocked out dont rejoin, wait in the lobby. When the the raid ends you will get your bonus damage balls. There is a small delay but dont trip as long as you dont rejoin you will get the damage bonus of the last team you used.
If the raid looks difficult of your short players then put your team #2 in first and after they or some of them are KO'd then go back in with your #1 team of your 6 best. That way you still get the credit of your max damage team.

You think that's bad. One time I saw a Jigglypuff. There's a mother with her very young daughter who are regulars. I hope it was the kids. Still the whole raid was WTFing

My local raid group are pretty ferral, loud and obnoxious, the language would make a thug blush. I'm no toffee nosed snob, but they never say much to me.

Mind you, the six or so ferral's pull their weight, as do I, but these six drive around all day.. everyday.. raiding. Frankly unless it's close by I have more important things to do.

The other 14 fresh faces per raid just stand around looking shocked. I won't take my wife anymore.

I am 3. I don't consider myself a technical expert but I always try to have a good and strong lineup for raids. And, I closely follow and read this forum which helps me as well :)
I am a bit antisocial so initially was not very keen of this raid cooperation thing... but I have seen that I can show up, battle and leave, which suits me perfectly.
I am not part of any whatsapp, discord or fb group. I just show up when I see a raid, if there is someone, fine, if not, I leave.

Same here 3, not part of any of those social groups.I'm just quite antisocial and don't go where there are so many people that they have to split in groups of two, i just look out for small raid groups.I only did 15 legendary raids lucky i got at least 1 of each bird, that was all i wanted . More worried about Mewtwo with this invitation thing..just have too see how it turns out.

More of a back ground organiser, created our local discord server and such, definitely a tech support.

Discord, 242 members currently.

I consider myself type 3. Since I'm the second youngest member of a group of 8 (and some spoofers who I seriously hate but they are friends with other members) and others are at around my parents' age, they don't seem to listen to my advice. Many of them have no clue of type advantages, let alone best PKM with best move sets against raid bosses. We failed many raids but I don't mind anymore. If we win, that's good. If we fail, that's OK. I'd rather go to the biggest city where there are a lot of capable players to join raids with.

[Edit] Our group just phone to inform each other about raids. I can only play in the morning and I am almost always the one to have to wait for others to show up. Sometimes more than 1 hour waiting is frustrating, but at least I can hatch 2-3 eggs jogging around the gym.

we have a big facebook group with people of various levels of engagement.
I organize. I count numbers and levels to determine if a raid is a go optimizing time and numbers.
At the event I ask if everyone knows what to use.
I make sure we all enter at the same time and if i notice some numb nuts has jumped the gun and left us with inadequate time to choose a team I pull the raid and organize re-entry.

There are other people who may fill a similar roll. If they did the numbers they are in charge.

  1. Although I don't know as much as 1,2. henchman to the top tier players when several kids need help at the same time. Usually don't say much otherwise.
  2. 15-19
  3. None.

I'm the guy that writes in complete sentences on discord. My big city has a northeast channel and a northwest channel. When players see my nickname they know to go to the big nice parks in North Central (I don't taxi around for raids). It doesn't take that many to beat these birds (except Lugia) so I'm a reliable leader in the moment that will stand outside in the heat...I'm lvl 36, anything above that in my area is super rare--even if someone is 38+ here they don't fight any better than me b/c I try to be prepared (also I never Blissey, Snorlax, or Lugia tank)

Mostly 2 and 3. Give also tm advise. But only if they ask for it.

1 200-300 but most of them can only a few times a week.
2 whatsapp, there is also a discord and facebook, but whatsapp is enough for me.

I'm a lot of 3 and a bit of 2. I offer help where it's requested but don't make a lot of noise (except for "who's using a Chansey?!?!" now and again). I have been offering to catch Zapdos (13/14 catch rate here) but no one so far has taken me up on the offer. I don't however offer to catch Lugia as I only have 5/22 myself :-\

Number 1, about 300 players. We used Whatsapp, but the limit of 256 prevented us from expanding. Now we use telegram.
