How did you waste your rare TM?

I got a L20 exeggutor with BS/P which I used 4 charge TM to change P > SeB > P > SeB > SoB.

Another scenario was to TM Fire Blast, but kept getting Crunch (no single SE) for tyranitars which eventually not power up any of these crunch.

Lesson learnt...

Happened to me, ironically in reverse. Was trying to get my Tyranitar to learn Crunch but it kept learning Stone Edge!

Felt dumb but I don't have much to tm even though saving them would be a good option as well.

Gyarados: Crunch>Outrage>Crunch>Outrage. I wanted to cry.

But Twister is legacy..

Yes, I'd meant to put Outrage. Mistakes happen.

Edit: Not that Outrage isn't a perfectly good move, Gyarados just has the best HP in the game, and that was extremely desirable.

Took me 4 to get my 98% Moltres Overheat
FB->HW->FB->HW->OH. I've been getting about 1.75 TMs per T5 raid though. My Scizors all have matching moves!

I once tried to get dazzling gleam on my blissey, and it went back and forth between hyper beam and psychic. I waisted all 4 CTM I had at that time and got the exact same move in the end :)

This happened to me too and I was sooo angry! I actually did get DG on the 4th TM. That's rough that you didn't get it. Yikes!

The god of fortune did indeed shine over me last week and granted me dazzling gleam at the 5th try and I was super excited at that moment! It was all worth it. I even invested like 30 or so rare candies in Chansey to get a second one ready to evolve, which of course didn't come with dazzling gleam.

As I stated in the other thread I just wasted 6 charge TM's today trying to change a DT/Hu Dragonite into DT/O. It's still DT/Hu. Gave up after 6 unsuccesful uses. Hurracane - Hyper Beam - Hurricane - Hyper Beam - Hurricane - Hyper Beam - Hurricane.

I feel you. It's definitely not 50/50 chance to get one of the moves. More like certain ones have a much higher chance to be changed to. And those are most likely the inferior moves of the Pokémon.

I have two TM horror stories:
Moltres Heat Wave>Fire Blast>HW>FB>Overheat
Dragonite Hurricane>Hyper Beam>H>HB>Outrage

Here is a tale of waste.
96% Blastoise Ice Beam-->Flash Cannon-->Ice Beam-->Flash Cannon-->Ice Beam

4 CTM to end up where I started on a mon, that will essentially just be a collectors item.

Rhydon Stone edge > megahorn> stone edge> earthquake... not so bad i guess

If I can answer a follow up question. How many were you willing to waste to get what you wanted? 4? 6? As many as it takes to get what you want?

My tale is 3rd machamp: so far, cc-hs-cc-hs-cc.

I'm back up to 30 charge TMs and ready to try again but am thinking to just try 2x each time.

I'm anticipating I will have at least 2-3 more mons in which I really need only one of the choices available so could never afford to go 0 for 30 on something...

I'm not willing to waste any because I very rarely get charge TMs. So the few I've gotten were used only on mon with the definitive worst move of the three. As a result, I have four Hurricane Draginites. If I roll the middling move, I live with it.

Blissey: Hyper Beam > Dazzling Gleam
Heracross: Earthquake>MegaHorn>Earthquake>Megahorn>Earthquake>Megahorn>Close Combat
Gyarados: Outrage>Crunch>Outrage>Crunch>Outrage>Hydro Pump
Moltres: Heatwave>Overheat
Dragonite:Hu>HB>hu>hb>Outrage

I had a 93% Moltres with just 13 ATK, but still my best, so I wasted 5 TMs so get Overheat on in. On the very last chance I unexpectedly catched a 91% one with 15 ATK and decided that it is probably more worthy to power up. Again, I wasted 5 TMs to get Overheat :D Currently, I'm not planning to push either.

I have much luck with Alakazam though, which always get Futuresight immediately.

Took me four tries to swap Psychic for Solar Beam on my legacy Confusion Exeggutor when I had three charged TMs.

Psychic => Seed Bomb => Psychic => Seed Bomb => Solar Beam

Had to wait til the next day to get my fourth TM which ultimately gave me the move I wanted.

This is what I did with my TM's:

Blissey Psychic > HB > Psychic > HB > DG
Golem RB > EQ (wanted SE. stopped right here because I was mad)
Espeon Psybeam > Psychic (wanted Futuresight)
Alakazam Focus Blast > Shadow Ball > Futuresight
Vaporeon WP > AT > WP > HP
Vaporeon WP > AT (wanted HP, stopped here because of above mistake)
2 Dragonites with SW/HB > DT/Outrage
Flareon FT > Overheat
3 Machamp with Heavy Slam > 2 DP & 1 CC (left CC as is)
Rhydon Megahorn > EQ
98% IV Moltres Heat Wave > Overheat (was screaming like crazy when I got it on the first try)

Took me 5 charge TM to get Avalanche on my Cloyster. Before that I was pretty lucky with Scizor and Jolteon. The next project is a Magneton (one wasted TM already) and after that I will probably try on Gengar and Muk.

Vaporeon - AT > WP > AT > WP > AT > HP
