Just wasted 6 charge TM's to top off a terrible day

I had 9 charge TM's and was running out of the most obvious targets, so I figured that now was the time to change my only high quality Dragonite from dt/hu to dt/o.

It went: Hurricane - Hyper Beam - Hurricane - Hyper Beam - Hurricane - Hyper Beam - Hurricane.

Down to 3 charge TM's left I quit. So I still have my dt/hu Dragonite and now only 3 charge TM's instead of 9.

Terrible. Don't do it unless you have a lot of charge TM's. I really should have stopped after 4 uses, since I really don't like only having 3 charge TM's.

And by the way, this wasn't even the worst part of my awful PoGo day. Earlier today I went to the biggest PoGo mall in my country. Was really looking forward to get in some legendary raids. I got there and saw people raiding in huge crowds. Zapdos. Then I looked at my phone and couldn't see the gym. Infact I could barely see any gyms or stops at the entire awesome PoGo mall. It took me a while to find the explanation. The app thinks I'm 7 years old instead of 42. This means that I cannot see ANY sponsored gyms or stops. And apparently you cannot change your age anywhere. How screwed up is that. I guess any of the upcoming events are off limits to me.

I don't use them unless I've got a Mon with bad moves - like a Machamp with Stone Edge or Heavy Slam. I've only gotten 1 Dynamic Punch out of changing the moves, but I've gotten Fighting Charge moves and said "That's good enough for now!" and left it at that.

Considering how rare TMs are (atleast for some people) it really sucks that this type of thing can and does happen.

I wonder if there is something they could do where are rolling a certain amount of times in a row...you get to actually to decide what move you get, instead of it being random.

Why would they? It's his own fault for changing a perfectly useable moveset, otherwise everyone would get the best moveset after 2 TM's.

There has to be a way to contact customer service and fix the age thing. You just might have to bother them a good bit.

I think if you clear the cache and reinstall the app, you will be shown the screen to specify your age

Edit: just tried, didn't work. There might be some other way I don't know yet

I presume you sign in using google account. When you install PokémonGo and sign in into the game the very first time using Google Account, it will prompt you with an age confirmation. You probably set the birth year in 2010 or some where near it. That's one way I know why the game may think you are 7 years old:).

Just delete the game and reinstall it. This time chose the birth year properly at first sign in and your problem should be solved. Wish you nice raiding!

Problem is that I sign in with a pokemon trainer account. The reason why it thinks I am 7 years old is because I set up the account for my son. However, he only played for the first week, since then I have taken over the account, but I can't change the age.

In this case you'd have to contact the support team and hope they actually care about players.

Only use TM charge if you have the worst charge move for example Hyperbeam on Dragonite. If you TM Hurricane then you are taking a risk

Yeah, that has been my strict policy as well. I just figured with 9 charge TM's it was worth the risk. Turns out it wasn't.

I'm almost in same boat as you. Went dragon pulse > HB > Hurricane .... waited over a month until today.... > HB > Hurricane

Really want Outrage and know there's a chance it could become legacy w no notice.

Might try again soon kuz I have 6 charge TMs left.

i went from dragon pulse to outrage on the first tm. TBH outrage is really slow. I prefer Hurricane and might TM my outrage on dragon breath to hurricane and TM hurricane on my dragon tail to outrage.

Your chance to get the charged move you want is 1/2 on every try, so the chance to have the wrong move after six trys is 1/64.
This is really bad luck, but, unfortunately, perfectly possible.
