Blissey Golem tag team to battle Ho-oh?

I just had an idea, would using Rock blast Golem (stone edge wouldn't be able to fire using this strategy) and switching-in Blissey when Ho-oh is about to use a solar beam be a viable way to battle Hooh? Are raid boss charge attack timing predictable? How fast can you reliably switch mons during raids?

In theory, maybe.

In practice, probably no because of lag and glitches which would kill your golem anyway. You could get away with this but it wouldn't be reliable.

Some smart poster suggested this a few days ago and I found it a pretty interesting idea.

I'm going to give this a test. Around here we rarely fight any non legendaries except Tyranitar. My hope is that I can catch one out with FB in a group large enough that if I fail we won't all lose. FB is another slow-as-hell charge with a late animation damage window. If it works it might help my Machamps do more optimal damage. Although the need for it with SoB Ho-Oh is quite a specialized case.

My service is very good over most of my area and my device rarely has any issue. For others I can imagine (from what I've read on here) this may not even be worth trying.

Maybe stupidbquestion but Do you think rock throws low eps is enough to do the job?

Everytime you switch out golem the energy will reset. You are going to loose energy. To what extent I'm not sure. I've been looking into vapreon that has a move with more decent EPS rate and three bar move and wondering if it might be an better blissey partner although in both cases I'm not sure the energy lost makes up for avoiding solar beam

I'm not sure with that EPS rate tough. Could be wrong but It would be great if somebody did the maths ?

I had run the math for a different reason in another thread. SE is usually gotten off comfortably at lv 35. Whether the time to switch will effect this greatly will be dependent on lag/device per trainer. RT is easily two but sometimes 3 before the next SoB.

Realize that Ho-Oh is special.

FWIW, I'm talking about testing if it is viable to do versus a Tyranitar not if it will "pay off" so much.

The catch with a golem (or similar) versus Ho-Oh is that you have zero charge bar coming in or going out because of the extremly limited mons that do not automatcally die at the first SoB. So the energy lost isn't really the issue it is whether you can get off at least one SE or a couple RBs against him before another SoB. Because basically except high end Zaps or Dragons you are coming back with zero energy anyway because you are dead. I want to know whether it is doable before I worry too much over the overall numbers.

There is a problem:
Any Blissey can't survive more than 4 Solar Beam from Ho-Oh if not dodged. A Level 40 Blissey with full DEF and STM iv still died at the 4th Solar Beam.

How are you going to arrange the attackers and Blissey?

4 Golems and 2 blissey should do the trick. I'd put the blissey as my number 5 and 6 slot and switch into them and then back out.

I've tried tricks like that before, but it always takes so long to switch that it completely defeats the point.
