Zapdos Worth Powering?
Now I know it's just the first day of the Zapdos week but I just caught a 98%, 15 attack, Zapdos with charge beam/thunderbolt. Is that worth just straight up leveling? Or should I really hold out for a better one which obviously may not even happen. It's the first bird I really got lucky with so I'm just happy to have caught one. I'm also aware that the quick move isn't very good which is a potential reason I'm asking if it's worth it.

That is a beautiful bird.
Have you used Charge Beam before? Or just Thunder Shock? If not, before spending dust, try it against a half motivated gym. Zapdos is my favorite of the birds, but I am not sure whether I am going to power one up because I find Charge Beam to be pretty awkward to attack with. Of course, if I caught a 98% with Thunderbolt, I would be pretty tempted to power it up.
Yours is the opposite of mine. I got 10/10/12 (a/d/s), 71%, with Charge Beam/Thunder. Literally 2 stamina from being the worst possible Zapdos one could capture in a raid.
I'd max out yours in a heartbeat. It will shred Gyarados. Part of the reason I went for team instinct was that there were strong ice and fire mon, but nothing awesome in electric when gen1 came out. After the Jolteon buff, that's less relevant, but Zappy is still the best electric attacker now.
I'm holding off powering up any of the birds until I know the raids have gone normal again. I world love a few "quiet" weeks of stocking up on supplies then I'll assess. Zapdos would be first on my list, followed by Moltres, just because they are so far and away the best of their respective types. It will also depend on whether or not the level 4 raid offerings change. Articuno might move up a step if Dragonite becomes a raid boss, for example. I WILL be powering up one of each regardless, just have to catch up on dust. I'm already shifting all rare candies I get over 150 to to the birds to clear space though.
