Zapdos Catching

Before I actually attempt a Zapdos raid, I'd like to know what it's moves are like when trying to catch it. Does it zip around a lot like Moltres, requiring a Nanab, or is it calmer, like Articuno and Lugia?

It moves around a fair amount but its movement is like ledyba. It zigzags around them returns to center. Wait till it gets to center and throw it while it does an attack.

It's like a really slow Ledyba. It moves all around, but it's really slow. I managed to land about 80% of my balls, which is much higher than the ~60% I was getting for Moltres.

It's like a zubat on steroids.

I would never recommend using a nanab. Just throw the ball as the attack animation ends to ensure you land your throw.

I'm 6 for 6 on Zapdos, so far. He'll move around diagonally a bit then wait for him to rear his head around slightly and toss about 10-15% further than you think. He'll repeat the series of small diagonal movements 2-3 times in a row sometimes, so watch for that. I didn't use any nanabs, just golden razzs.

For me it is the easieast one to hit until now. It is a bit further than Articuno, which was very close, and a bit closer than Lugia, which is very far for me (a lot of balls lost because of lag and my phone don't registering the hole swipe).

I have only done one and catch it, missed the first throw (I thought it was more far away), then hit 3 excellent in a row easily and got it. Don't let his crazy pattern animation distract you, just wait until he is in the middle and throw the ball just when the attack animation is finishing. A lot of people wants to finish first, normally when people is at their 5th-6th ball I am still at the second one, never use it if you are not sure, you have all the time in the world but only a bunch of balls. Good luck!

It moves around like Ledyba, very frequently. The distance is a little bit further than that of pidgeotto.

I managed to throw 4 excellent and 4 great with the circle trick. That is, making the circle small, wait for the attack animation and throw.

Well, thanks for the information guys. All my balls landed, either great/nice, but no Zapdos to show for it. Still better than Moltres though.
