Using Rare Candies on Pidgeys

I constantly just drop 50-60 on my Ttars and Dragonites after every 3-4 raids. maybe throw extras into the legendaries? i would say pretty much anything but pidgey. never try to hold more than 150 at a time.

I would put the rare candies into either legendaries that you might eventually make another of, or other top-tier mons.

Using them on pidgeys for exp seems like madness, as the rare candy to exp ratio is pretty lousy.

I would be pretty happy to have a large fraction of my item space be rare candies. Especially when we get Gen 3 ;-) Catch one of the first form of one of the new super powerful pokemon, and get one evolved that day :-P With 1000 bag slots that aren't rare candy, keeping 500 rare candies with a maxed out bag doesn't sound bad.

Just out of curiosity:
- how much xp tou have(I guess quite a few above 20 mil)?
- how many raids and legendary ones did you do?
- how many maxed ttars you have?

Why the need for more XP?

If I were you, I would just use pidgey as a buddy and invest some of the candies into either legendaries or 5 km buddy pokemon, like ttar, dragonite, snorlax, etc. Make sure to keep some of the candies for the 3rd generation.

Start grinding and stop raiding. You said your problem is stardust. The only way to get it is by grinding, not raiding. So use your coins on incubators instead of raid pass, go to your local park and catch those pidgeys. They will give you dust, candy and xp. Use the free raid pass only for the legendary of the week. Your dust problems will be gone in no time.

Please be trolling. If you're that thirst for exp buddy walk a Pidgey. No one actually uses rare candies on 1km buddies. The most lousy mom I ever dropped candy on was Machamp. I've since just buddied up with him. Candies on 5k and legendary.

Using them on Eevees would be 10 times better at least.
But you should use them on dragonites, tyranitars, machamps.

When you go overboard and end up wasting your resources.

don't have a lot of candy but I do have 1.2mill in stardust lv 35 just loved to hatch eggs during the event
so you got 500 candy oh well grind more and walk the eggs off stardust will grow
