Does anything matter now?

Now i do not need lots of gyms. One or two will get 50 coins!

Now I do not need an army of attackers as a team of weedles will almost do the job!

As for defenders, whatever I caught two mins ago will do!

So my question if the above is true is what is the point to the game now? The end game was always debatable but it seems now that there is not even a point to the game in the next minute let alone in some undefined "end" point.

If we are aiming for the best mons, with the best cp and the best Ivs, have we not lost sight of the fact that this is for attack and defence that is now completly redundent?

I still like playing for playings sake but it occured to me that with half a days play I could have a team just as effective as a level 40 account!

Has the reward for grinding now completely evaporated?

Your right. Nothing matters. You should stop wasting time and stop playing then. If you like the game play. If you don't stop

I think raid battles are the current thing to test your mons' mettle. How small a group do you need to take down X?

I wish gyms were still a thing. They are now just a simple duty .

how small a group of good players you need.
How hard you can carry an under leveled group.

although when said wieners faint and don't even bother trying to rejoin and you just miss out it's pretty annoying.

Catch em all and be the very best. Pretty much the same end game as any pokemon game - there is none.

Weedle is not as good as an attacker as Dragonite. Let me demonstrate:

Compare:
Dragonite:
Attack: 263
Defense: 201
Stamina: 182

Weedle:
Attack: 63
Defense: 55
Stamina: 80

As you can see, the attacking stat of Dragonite is higher than Weedle.

Weedle does have access to all stab quick moves though, so you will end up with something good either way, but poor dragonite has non-stab steel wing which makes it really bad.

Not much matters anymore if you don't create your own, unique goals and then continue to make new ones as your progress.

A Steel Wing + Hyper Beam Dragonite has a higher DPS than Weedle.

But if I find a team of 15 players about to raid a legendary, I can join with my 6 weedles and still catch a legendary.
If I have a team of max'd Dragonites, and no one joins me in a raid...I am still screwed.

(but I liked your post...a good bit of fun)

lol

How on Earth can a Weedle beat a 3173 CP Blissey?

just wait for it to no longer be a 3173 Blissey.

OP said there was no difference between a weedle and a dragonite, waiting around for 8 hours so the CP drops seems like a pretty meaningful difference.

The question I responded to asked how a weedle can defeat a Blissey...I responded to that question.

My answer is still valid.

Simple. Go into battle then back out 50 times. Defending Pokemon lose 1.6% motivation no matter what. Do enough til it has almost no motivation then use your Weedles .
I just read about this last night. I'll post the link once I re-find it.

Pogo is like life. You create your own end game. You set your own goals and try your best to achieve them. You will probably be content at times but never completely satisfied. But always remember that both is like a roller coaster ride. So enjoy it before its over.

I need to take a LOT of gyms every day to get 50 coins. Yesterday I only got 23 coins from 3 gyms.
I only got max 50 coins once since the new gym system.

Since July 5, when I figured out the HUMAN dynamics of new coin award system, I have been awarded 50 coins every day. I know because I keep a log. This is better, by far, than I did under the old gym system.
May I make what might be two helpful suggestions, recognizing that each player's gaming environment is different?
Tip #1 - It is all about time of day. My suggestion is: play when others don't. I am 64. I sometimes wake up about 2:00 am and, rather toss and turn in bed, I face the fact that I am not going to go back to sleep immediately and so I go out gym hunting. I run or walk to the gyms and take over several gyms (favoring weak ones) within running or walking distance of my house and go back to bed and sleep soundly. When you take over gyms in the wee hours of the morning, you are going to be able to occupy them for several hours. Why? Because most of the other players, especially the younger players, are asleep. Combine this with tip #2 and you have a 50-coin-a-day winning strategy.
Tip #2 - It is also about easy access to the gym. At least in the USA, people are pretty lazy. That is likely to be the same with players in other countries. All humans probably are innately lazy. We are predisposed to conserve our energy, except when it comes to engaging in sex, in which case we are predisposed to expending whatever energy might be required. The gyms that you want to take over in your "off hours" are those that lazy players can get to easily. So I take over gyms in high traffic areas that lazy players can get to easily. At least where I live, that means gyms accessible by car.

To summarize: Take over gyms in "off hours" that are easily accessible by lazy players in your area.

totally agreed what you written. So advice all don't send your hard earn money on this games anymore. Of course if you are rice and enjoying the game just go ahead.
people enjoy boss raid when it started, but currently most peoples only participate in legendary. soon or later most people will feel bored when legendary is over or already caught hundreds of them.

I'm wondering the same. I just made level 35 and it's the first lvl I made where I didn't power up a thing afterward. Before I was waiting to get my blissey and others over 3K and now it doesn't matter.

I also used to buy incubators with any spare coins I had and walk a lot to hatch the eggs but there really isn't much worth hatching now so I just use the infinite incubator and make one trip a day to the closest gym so I can get a few coins and keep my pokestop streak alive.

Just play PoGO with doing something else you love to do or completely stop playing it if you can't bear anymore. Living in a small city where the only accessible gym is 5km away from my house, I fast walk/jog over 10km everyday to the gym and back home. I've lost 5.5kg of excess fat since I started playing PoGO and I feel so much better than before. I also track my walk/jog with CharityMiles and contribute to people in need.

Speaking of the new gym system, now I can earn more than 10 coins a day, which I struggled to get 10 before. Some days, I've got no coin because of constant network errors, Raid Bosses interupts my gym fighting and/or my team gym is full and I can't put my PKM in there. Am I angry? Yes. Niantic f*ck us all. But then I think PoGO is just a game. Enjoy it the way you want! Your real life matters more than a game.

P.S. I've just started a war with local spoofers and multi-account players by maintaining my team gym with gold berry feeding from afar. They all know that was me doing it. I don't know how long I can 'survive' my gameplay this way but it's fun to f*ck with cheaters. When my reports of cheaters to Niantic can't punish them, I'm gonna do it myself. Wish me luck or RIP. I'm still the winner anyway. ;)

Agree with several pp, you have to set your own goals. I'm now locked out of some in game activities, e.g. legendary raids (not enough players) and the gyms have become ridiculous since the general rapid motivation loss. But I still like to claim them for my team and get coins. I'm also working on some medals and want to level up (close to 37 now).

But my main motivation hasn't changed - this is the greatest fitness app ever! I've lost 10 lbs (damn near impossible before) and I'm not stopping now.
