Gym Hogs

I'm starting to see the same tired old mons and trainer names in gyms. No sooner defeat the gym and they take it back. Gym hogs ruin the game.

Yup. I'll get my 50 coins for the day and you won't see me there until the next day.

All trainers wants a golden badge at their local gym. Gym hogs or whatever you call it my ass. I'll retake my gym and fight for it with golden barries if I want that slot.

These guys well and truly have gold badges. So they're just being selfish asses.

i just did that.
got back from work, and my gym was been attacked, i got home, waited one hour and went to the gym to retake it, while i was walking to the gym a team mate got the gym back for us, and by the time i got there, there was 5 trainers in the gym, if i waited a few more, there wouldn't be place for me in the gym. i even met one of them in the square.
You got to be fast, with this non prestige system gyms get full very quickly

Gyms are different now. I don't think that they are better. The issues do seem more fixable, though.

I agree that they are different now. But I think they are better, much better.

for me it's better than before. I used to have to go to remote areas to put mons in Gym to get free coins because near my home/work, there were full of Blisseys, Dragonite and Snorlax. Although i took them down, it was took again under one hour and they were back to level 10. (bubblestrats, spoof, or bots).

With the new system, it seems bots/spoofer are decreasing near my area and now I'm active taking down rival gyms.

Same here. And rivals do the same, so I have been getting max coins almost daily.

It is a little like Monopoly, Risk, Homestead Act...stake your claim. I'm golden in 2 close gyms and there are 3 regular pokestops in that same parking lot of a community center--I'm getting 25+ items in a quarter mile.

Everyone wants the gold gym badge because as long as its your teams gym and you have the gold badge the spin grants 7 items minimum.

So imagine, gold badge+10th spin+7 day streak spin.......That's like 30 something items

They need to learn gym etiquette! Our local gyms used to be all blue (my team, but I was often locked out), cause taking down a level 10 was just not worth it for 10 coins.

Now, Valor and Instinct have been very active locally. And most of us seem to have the inter-team courtesy of not attacking until they have likely had a chance to collect.

I had teamed up in a raid with a rival earlier today and just could not attack the gym I had my sights on because he was the lone defender, LOL.

Overall, although the new gyms need improvements, no doubt, I like them much better. Seeing a level 15 noob showing off her CP 415 Snorlax in a gym made me smile ;)

They are more active because the weak have been given what they have not worked for: access to resources.
I will literally track and kill a players Pokémon, gym after gym. just because I see they are a low level player taking up a space they don't the meaning of.

Formula for worthy is same for underage dating threshold:

Higher trainer's level / 2. Then + 7.

So level 30/22. And still, it's too lenient.

Actually, most of the rival team players are not low level, severel are higher than my own (36); they just didn't have much of a chance locally before the gym rework (who wants to use all their resources for one level 10 gym that will be retaken shortly?)
