Golem vs. Rhydon
So...I tryed to solo an Arcanine today for the second time. First time it had FB, this time around it had the electric move. Against the first one I already had the feeling that my Vaporeons didn't deal enough damage to hold the timeline. Today I had to rely mostly on my rock/ground types.
Rhydon lvl 31,5 80% IV MS/EQ
Golem lvl 31,5 98% IV RT/SE
Golem lvl 31,5 80% IV RT/SE
Tyranitar lvl 35,5 89% IV B/SE
For me it seemed that Rhydon was dealing less damage than those Golems did. Any possible Explenaition for that? Lost one time because EQ hit just to late before Rhydon fainted and Arcanine got back his life. Any experiences from players who took Arcanine down how to do it best? I thought for example that charge moves were coming much more often against my no. 2 and no.4 pokemon making the order quite important.

I have taken down a FB arcanine solo using 2 level 36.5 MS/E rhydon/golem. Might have used a 3rd one(golem or rhydon), can't remember now,but either way the first 2 did the bulk of the damage. Finished with probably 2 or 3 seconds left, the key I see here is the network cannot lag since there is little room for error
M/E rhydon and golem are listed as supreme counters for arcanine on gamepress. Level 36.5 is only 2.5 away from the max 39, so they are almost close to optimal in terms of damage output. My fight didn't experience much lag and it allowed me to dodge several FB's to maximize the use of the rhydon/golem. If you have 3 lvl 39 or even 36.5 rhydon/golem, no dodging should be faster. My point is with only a couple seconds left with nearly optimal counters and good network/dodging, any network lag can easily cost you the battle. If you have 3 lvl 39 rhydon/golems and do little or no dodging, you might have more room for errors. Looking at OP's lineup, I feel it needs some upgrade and then it is still a tight one
I failed against a Wild Charge Arcanine last week. I threw in a couple of Rhydon's. 2829 MS/SE & 2610 MS/EQ. They attack so damn slow! I have no idea how they're "supreme counters" when they're attack is slow and you have TIME against you. I definitely saw Arcacnine's health bar going down quicker when Golem 2525 RT/SE & 2506 RT/EQ was in there.
Because they resist more of Arcanines moves compared to say, Vaporeon who also resists fire, but takes increased damage from Wild Charge.
For group battling, you'd rather have Rhydon or Golem over a Vaporeon because you'd deal similar DPS but takes less damage and 2 people is more than enough for level 3 raids, but for solo players that might actually be a downside since taking more damage would mean you charge energy faster.
Since the timing with Rhydon / Golem vs Arcanine is so tight I wonder if Vaporeon would be better if the Arcanine has Wild Charge.
I took down an electric Arcanine with two Rhydons and two Rock Golems. I never dodge against bosses. Because of the clock, maximizing DPS is all that matters.
I only had a few seconds left so I may need to power up my two level 30 Golems. Rhydons were maxed out. I am level 36. I am also considering going for a Tyranitar early next time to see if damage is higher.
From the spreadsheets I look at, MS/EQ Rhydon does less DPS than Water Gun/Hydropumpers (Starmie/Omastar/Vaporeon)...and is even slower than DT/O Dragonite...
Also, Pokebattler has Vaporeon as the fastest time to win...Not sure how accurate all these are since all these spreadsheets and simulations conflict with one another...
Mudslap is generally a poor move though...I'll have to try a solo Arcanine soon and see how my team of 2 Golems (RT/SE), Vap (WG/HP), Rhydon (MS/EQ) and Dnite (DT/O) will do...
Probably won't get to the 6th man due to time I'd think.
