Why is Houndoom worthless

I tried to solo a Machamp. I thought to be clever and use my two houndoom

They are dark so take less damage from fighting-type attacks. They both have two dark attacks (Snarl/Foul Play) so cause extra damage to fighting pokemon like Machamp.

Despite this, the Machamp wiped them out without any effort.

Does anyone have an explanation?

Are you trolling? Fighting is super effective against dark, fighting resists dark, and houndoom is somewhat squishy.

Uh... Fight > Dark.

Uh, i think you have it backwards. Dark is weak to Fighting.... you were taking Super Effective Damage. you want Houndoom for Eggs or maybe Alakazam.

Not great, maybe useful, but i think Bug pokemon would be better against most of them. Especially Scizor.
