Current mass-evolution quantity
Originally, the number of Pokemon that could be evolved during a (30 minutes) lucky egg was 60-70. Then in the 0.41.2 / 1.11.2 (Android / iPhone) patch, the evolution animation was reduced. GamePress stated that one could now get in 90-100 [1]. I just did a mass evolution session with a luck egg active but was only able to do 70-80.
How many Pokemon can be evolved now while using a luck egg?

I favorite all my top/final evolution pokemons to avoid transfer them by mistake. May be I will rename as all of you suggest.
I usually reach 73-75 pokemons per lucky egg but one of my teammate said he usually gets 80-83 pokemons/lucky egg as he save up candy to evolve just one kind of pokemon per lucky egg.
I've gotten around 60-70 while discovering a new pokemon and transferring every evolve that I don't intend to keep (i.e. 40 pidgeys, etc...) as I do it.
I know transferring is an inefficient use of lucky egg time, but similarly not transferring is an inefficient use of total time. It'd take me way too long to save up enough evolves to do 80 at once anyways, so I prefer to transfer (especially when it nets me 4 or more extra pidgey evolves for the session).
I consistently get 86-87. I have an iphone6, I don't restart the app, I don't transfer. I favorite 92 Pokémon (I've gotten 89 once), crack he egg (notice the time so I don't have to get off the Pokémon page and also make sure you have already sorted to favorite).
Then I use my left thumb to evolve, right thumb to select yes, then right thumb to unselect favorite in the top right, click the "X" at the bottom of the page, then select the top right Pokémon with my right thumb and continue. I never leave the Pokémon screen the entire egg. I don't worry about hatching eggs, catching anything, spinning stops, or whatever.
Renaming is inferior bc you have to scroll, it's more effective in the long run of the eggolution to quickly tap the star to unfavorite them. Good luck, hope I'll get 172k XP on your next eggolution during the event!
Wow, this is exactly what I do. Espeically the right/left thumb thingy.
The only difference is that I'm using an Android phone and it gets kind of overheated as I mass evolve and the game starts to lag.
So I have to get a fan right beside my phone to cool it off.
One more tip, I also get another phone or anything that can keep you aware of the time. Once I cracked the lucky egg, I will click the timer first and then immediately go into Pokemon page and start evolving.
Done my 10th mass evolution so far, my best record was at 79 evolutions; average around 77.5 per egg. And average about 23 seconds per evolution.
