Gengar question.

Hi I have a gengar with shadow claw/dark pulse. Should I tm the charge move or should I keep it as its a legacy moveset.

If you feel like Gengar is an important tool for you in battling raids or gyms then yes. I would say there are more important mons to TM thougt:
HB Dragonite
FB Tyranitar
MH Rhydon
HS Machamp

I'm a level 37 rural player with nobody else playing where I live. I am trying to solo gengar/machamp and alakazam so I'm concentrating for now on beating them. My tyran and dragons have great moves only missing some good machamps.

What is the point to solo Gengars? You can't earn Shadow Claw anymore.

Soloing Alakazams is okay, but few Confusions can kill your Gengar very easily, might be useful against PC ones.

Against Machamp, a very good option, but you need to worry about time, add some psychic glass cannons in the lineup.

Thanks for your help and advice. Against machamp I use :-gengar sc/sb espeon Alaskan x 2 c/fs. Drag dt/h Eggy ex/Psy. All level 35 approx

I'd want to get more Gengar's just to get a guaranteed high IV one saving candies for powerups instead (he sorta needs to be high level for slightly more bulk)...

Even without SC, he's still the highest DPS mon into Alakazam and very high against himself...and moves could also change in the future...

I got a perfect one ... with Lvl. 5 :/

i wouldn't tm rhydon they are easy to get and they eventually get another evolution

Dark Pulse is a weaker version of Shadow Ball and is without STAB.

If you have a spare charge TM, then YES, Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball is the best moveset for Gengar and very useful in the high dps raid meta.

I have lvl 33 sc/sball 93% also have 98% lvl 20 sc/Sludge think it's worth a Tm to try for sball or leave it alone?

The only disadvantage of having sludge bomb is its typing, especially against gengar's. I like how I can throw it out and have a better chance of dodging the defender/boss's next attack compared to shadow ball
