Soloing tier 3 (lvl35)

JHVS, your imput is much appreciated, since i know you have goals on soloing tier 3 raids.
I've successfully beat a few, but Flareon has given me trouble, don't have the best "ground" game. Vape was easiest, IMO, but I've got "grass" for days. Machamp is my issue, or maybe it's lag, but that would be an excuse. I've seen alot of posts of beating Machamp, with good mons, but I lose with the same mons with higher CP.
I went in with:
2620CP Espeon ZH/P
2608CP Espeon ZH/FS
2604CP Alakazam C/FS
2600CP Eggs C/SoB
2217CP Charizard AS/OH
2331CP Eggs E/SoB

Machamp had C/HS

And lost... i must be doing something wrong, the order? I don't know, frustrating. I don't pay now, so i went back2back (yesterday/today's free raid) like this, because it was close the first time. Dodged charged moves (when possible) first round, timed out with I'm sure half a hp left. Second round, went spam hard, with 3 glass cannons ? dont need to tell you how that turned out. Anyway, with everyone saying "easy" with lower CP mons, i can only guess I've done something wrong.

For those who can answer, great. For those that can't, you can look at my Raichu party.

Holy shit you shouldn't lose with that. Not unless lag/other issues are at play.

Did you timeout or die both times? Do you have a DT/H Dragon for a late anchor? Exactly how close did you Get? I already know he had DP or we wouldn't be having this discussion lol. HS is also tough as heck those things can come out of nowhere

He had HS... i honestly don't know what happened...
The two dragons, SW/HB and DT/HB
I swear he died the first go around, but the game started "thinking" and i timed out (dodged charged moves, best i could at least). Second go, i went spam, and died (3 glass cannons).

I did something stupid today. I fought an Alakazam without restarting the app. Every charge move I dissapeared. It would say "dodged!" but I would go invisible for many seconds...I'm guessing 5 seconds plus at times. I restarted and skull drug that bastard even though he had FB. I think this bug even happens without the visual alert, in that you may be taking undeserved damage and be visable but not actually functioning.

Are you doing a full restart prior to every raid? I've found it more critical than my actual lineup.

I do normally, but i was rushing today... and since i see that he is the "easiest" everywhere, i thought i could just go in. Might be the issue

Unfortunately, your Charizard is lacking in power. Actually, I think you should just TM him and use him as a fire attacker.
You might also have to power your last Egg to CP 2500 at least.
Do you have a Dragonite with Hurricane?

The thing is, i dont pay Niantic anymore. So I've done raids in the 20s, losing those that lag, or have no one in the lobby (tier 4). 0 TMs from 18 wins. And my team > than teams that have not only beat him, but said easily

To add, all those quick moves are slow. When Machamp has a terrifically unpredictable fast charge a faster quick move or bulkier mon makes it easier. In your case you are dying with lots of charges left in the cupboard no doubt.

I currently have a Zam being powered up, has PC/DG... hoping this guy makes it "EASY" lol

When he has DP, PC serves a very defined purpose for me. Champ has a tell most of the time. A slight delay from the regular move a then the flex he does before the charge. Now all that happens stupid fast. If you have confusion you may get a dodge in but it's tough. If you have PC you can do it rather easily. That doesn't mean I think C mons aren't good for this. It's just nice with good dodging to land multiple FSs being slippery at the start. Then tankier mons with slower movesets can do their damage and die if they need to. The first 20 or so seconds seem more predictable but maybe I'm imagining part of that.

Yeah, also didn't know i could raid more than once on a pass... I'm a newb all over again. I will take your advice, and the advice from the other replies, and go forth as a Lara Croft... or Lary Croft, I'm a dude

This is why if you solo, you start with your glass cannons since the raid boss won't be firing off a charge move immediately for at least 10-20 seconds...

That will let you get off at least one or two charge moves and you can move on the your Exeggutors or bulkier attackers which may miss dodges due to using slower quick moves (and you simply not wanting to dodge quick moves anymore...).

The way your post is written, you missed it the first time with yesterday's free pass. Then you spun another free pass for today...every indication (including my own) you get the whole hour on one pass to keep trying until you win or run out of potions. With that being a fact, stock up on potions and try different orders and specialists

As was said above, hurricane dragonite would be a good replacement the two lower cp mons

Gots me some of those hyperbeam dragons... but dont gots no TMs... so i might as well not gots them dragons

Lol. The game changer is above. Fight until the timer dies. Even if you lose you'll be able to diagnose whether your issue is strength (dead mons) or time (live mons, timeout).

I use one Espeon and three Alakazam, all Psychic moves. Then a Dragonite as filler. Had 40 seconds left. Those psycho types sure did contribute a lot.

Thanks everyone for the replies, and thank you Niantic for allowing me to throw a Raichu party, worth every penny.

Since i dont have 1 single TM, I will now force breed my Dragon with a Pidgeot

Best move right there. Unleash double fling super effective death from a tardragon.

One question here. This team is enough to solo a Machamp? i never tried before but want to be prepared.

Exeggutor - ZH/SoB 2729CP;
Alakazam - PC/P 2610CP;
Espeon - ZH/Psybeam 2472CP;
Exeggutor - C/P 2417CP;
Exeggutor - Ex/P 2381CP;
Exeggutor - ZH/P 2244CP.

Worth switch some for a 3301CP Dragonite DB/DC?.

Kind of. Depends on how well you dodge or glitches. That goes for stronger teams too.

Fwiw I would run that Zam first to judge the charge move. If it's not counter, go all out, try to dodge charges but it's a sprint. He's going to kill at least one of your guys with a decent charge and you've got to play around that. DT/H is more tanky and let's you play the middle on those movesets.

Would you put the psybeam espeon last, so the little bit of hp left wouldnt have to wait for a 1 bar charge move?

Edit: thoughts on C/Psyshock Jynx? I know, steel, but I got one at level 32... just because, lol

Pretty much this...I used to say don't bother dodging, but if you can get a few more charge moves in, by all means, dodge the charge attacks...

Getting off another Solar Beam or Future Sight is massive damage and worth the extra second to dodge I think...

As mentioned, always start with your glass cannons since they won't be hit with a charge attack immediately and after playing long enough, you'll know that when your charge bar is full, so is the bosses and you may want to prepare to dodge...

Also, check your raid start time, if your time is off, you could start 20-30 seconds late which will make solo raids near impossible...(I fixed my issue by manually setting my time...the AUTO time was way off).

Have fun, I want to solo Level 3 myself, but usually do them with the wife and she won't be able to solo and be upset with me if I soloed it....

I've beat Machamp solo many times (I seek him out now) and I feel like my DR/H Dragonites are the best. I lead with them, followed by Alakazam and C/P Exeguttor
