I like to start my day off with a gripe or two...

Oh Niantic, your laziness seems more noticeable day by day.
If you all remember the massive server issues when the game started a year ago, and the glitches, login issues, forced closes, etc, that came alomg with it. The excuse was that they didn't expect this kind of turn out (a lot), and there were too many playing the game. Now, we assumed they fixed these issues, upgrading servers, investing time into these bugs. But, what if it was a combination of "minor" fixes, and the huge drop off of trainers playing the game. Before the update, the only "glitches" I can recall was the dodge bug. Everything outside of that worked flawless(ish). After the update, bringing back the casuals, overloading the "improved" servers, the same glitches from the beginning. Major lag, in and outside the gym (the more gym dense an area, the more my game skips). App closes by itself. Can't, or long wait, login issue. Etc.... So, instead of fixing the issue, you bring back "casuals," knowing that these issues will come back, or at least knowing what you didn't before the game launched.

As bad as the anniversary "event" is, I would have just been happy with an Anniversary "gift" that fixed all the issues from a year ago. Even the event start-up brought problems at the beginning. It wasn't ready? You plenty of time to put a hat on pikachu.... So not only a lazy anniversary event, but a half @$$ed one, that really glitched out ("hardcores" + "casuals" + "event enthusiast" = server issues). It died down after a) Niantic fixed it, or b) "Event Enthusiast" saw a bad event.

Just random thoughts, with zero facts to back up, but "the truth is out there" -name that show ?

I no longer have a problem with the cash grab, I've found ways to have fun without spending a dime (btw, i have spent money in the past, not as much as some of you though). Just skip the next big event, "cool" update, or the hat on pikachu... and fix the game.

Yes! 100% agree. I know I could have soloed that vape boss yesterday but the game lag was so bad (not an excuse, really). I know players who get serious game rage because of it....

Niantic, with all the big money you have made, you couldn't upgrade your servers, hire enough programmers and other needed resources? How long does it take?!

They are a disgrace we can only hope, however low th chance, that they sell to a competent company. I still think this game has a lot of untapped potential.

I am trying to think of some of the changes as an opportunity. Eggs don't mean much, buddy candy means even less, 14 year old kids can have 10 Tyranitars. My medals say I've walked 2161 kms. In the past I've actually been a runner--Boston Marathon, several 100k trail races, although I strayed from running seriously b/c I have a weak left foot. I'm feeling freer to actually jog without any link to this game, makes so much more sense to just check out the gyms when you are getting groceries.

Gym update made game a total shitfest. I cant name a single thing that changed for good other then tms...

IF we could actually get the TMs, that is. I did 8 raids yesterday and nada.

But another good thing, I think, is the limit of one species per gym. Outside of that, I'm at a loss.

This post isn't really about the changes made in gameplay (for better or worse). It's more for the lack of changes lack of changes made to fix all the issues, but instead, making more issues for the "consumers" to put up with

I very much agree with your original gripe, soloing a level 3 comes down to the last 5 to 10 seconds most of the time. One opportunity wasted by glitch/lag could sap all your bag's potions. At least before when a Blissey timed out because of glitch/technical issues, you were losing just one health. My added on rant was included because there were times I would jog 6 to 10 miles and get absolutely ZERO added to my egg distance, I would still look at my phone and throw balls and occasionally stop to get a good one. I get that it WAS a walking game, but now since it barely is that, I no longer have to worry about picking up no egg distance

I played simply on gaming alone. I like(d) the idea of excercise, and that it "helped" others to get going, but i go to the gym 4/5 times a week, so strictly a gaming aspect for me. I guess now, it's even more gaming, but i don't really care for it. But changes will be made, for money, or other reasons. But fact is, it's broken

Agreed whole heartedly. Yesterday I could have soloed a Weezing boss IF IT WASN'T FOR THE LAG.
Furthermore in addition to gyms, has anyone else notice how much lag there has been with stops and using healing items in general?

Yes, thats what i meant by "in and outside gyms." My avatar even lags walking around (especially highly dense gym/pokestop areas). Also, they didn't fix the gps drift, and right after this post, gyms/pokestops were disappearing/re-appearing, and one gym was gone when i got to it. Had to close the app, before it would return

I had one he'll of a time with a tier 2 Muk yesterday and almost didn't make it (alone, of course) due to network errors and lag. At least it wasn't incompetence (mine), LOL.

Correct, you have won the chance to catch a pikachu with a hat. No one else even attempted to answer that.
