Is the Gym penalty at 3000 or 3001?

I ask because I have a 3000 cp 100 iv Gyara and I have another at a lower level that I will leave at 2976 if so

the limit is under 3000.

So 3000 will get the penalty.

Vaperon is the perfect one at 100% IV can hit 2999

Woops! No it really doesn't matter anymore it's almost beneficial to put in 3k+ so you can get the coins.

I've got no problem collecting. The first day the gyms opened I got screwed 49/50. It irks me seeing I'm a coin shy for a raid pass every other day.

I've collected a full 50 each day since. Started working a my a downtown Bakery. I usually have a couple defenders from the day before. I make it a point to drop in one or two more before starting at 3AM and I always have 50 by the time I'm clocking out.

Because the flooring function is used when calculating CP, so anything at 3000 CP is actually bigger than 3000.

GYARADOS IS NOT A DEFENDER!!

Must have been living under a rock for the past couple of weeks. A pidgey is a defender now. Gyarados is at best a back up attacker. In fact, it's most useful moveset is probably B/C as a dark SE into psychics with focus blast.

More like you have been living under a Golem. That's only for places with low player density. In places like Singapore, even a Blissey won't last 10 minutes if no one feeds her berries.

I live in one of the biggest cities in the US. Trust me, pidgeys sometimes last long enough to collect coins. Maybe Singapore has a bigger ratio of players to gyms. The other day my yanma came back with 16 coins.

I don't see any "penalty" for having a Pokémon above 3000. Don't you want your Pokémon back? Yesterday, I didn't earn a single coin because I had good defenses in the gym!
