19 rare candies, how to use them

I know that I have to save most for legendaries, but I have to clear bag spaces.

Now I have several questions:
How many should I use?

Who should I use on? Excluding Dragonites, I already gave up finding a good one.

Who should I buddy with? Preferring Magenton (current buddy, collecting candies for the future Mangezone) and Machamp.

19 candies is fairy little, ditch some potions, revives, pokeballs or berries because they are easy to get and hang onto your candies.

Use them on pidgeot. These are almost 2 additional evolutions during one Lucky-Egg-Session.

I can literally get 19 pidgey candies in 5 minutes by going after every pidgey I see on the nearby tracker.

This makes 38 pidgey candies in total. :-)

I buddy machop and I've been using rare candies on any 5 km buddies that I needed. I spent maybe 20 or so and still have about 50 in bag, I haven't done that much raids (1 or 2 a day mostly solo or in small group).

But now the rare candies reward seem to have dropped, I barely get 1 or 2 here and there.
I will keep a minimum of 40-50 rare candies in bag and wait. With raids we can always get a better IV pokémon to invest on anyway.

I'm using all on Larvitar.

I spent mine, finally got Porygon2, got my 3rd Dragonite to be semi-functional. I needed the bag space, so I finally bought 100 spots to 450. Used earned coins, haven't been buying many raids, gyms have acceptable turnover here. However, still not accruing potions (200 revives), I'll start using gold razz and pinaps on all catches I want (poliwags, abra, eevee, etc) on the anticipation potions return to the game. I have 10 more candy I'm starting to save again, I have more expectation of Heracross than a legendary, some weekend I'll drive my family 2 hours to Corpus Christi to the coast

19 rare candies are a problem for bag space? 50 places in the bag cost 200 coins, so your 19 candies are occupying space for 76 coins. 1/2 of an incubator. Or your space is maxed already, in which case it is less then 2% of your space.

No, the problem is that I don't want to delete so many potions and revives like some YouTubers. Also that I am pretty lack of super/hyper potions.

Doesnt matter if you wonna delete them...rare candies are much more valuable and therefore take priority over a bunch of revives.

Also you dont aquire the entire range of different items at a blanced ratio...so to keep a good amount of each item and not an excessive amount ofa specific type, you need to delete and manage bag space as you go.

For example, my potions and revives would slowly dominate my entire bag...overtaking the space i eant for pokeballd as i naturally spent more pokeballs than revives so the space just kept getting used up with more revives

I would delete revives (and have been since gym rework)...

...you get them from raids and for whatever reason, I end up with 100+ everyday...

Also, gym battling for me (and I assume a lot of people) is down a ton due to no need to prestige (which burns up a lot of revives/potions) and no more stagnant towers to attack so after my 50, I don't attack rival gyms for fun...

Do that and you will be swimming in revives and potions...Also, like someone else posted, after that 1st run through a gym (mostly due to Blissey), just bring out the strong generalist Dnite/Trex/Confusion Eggs and clear it 2 more times and you're finished...I'm too lazy to even think of type counters at that point and the last battle just seems like a total time waster (they die in like 3 Confusion hits).

Yup, revives are everywhere it seems. Cannot possibly battle enough to use all of them. Only 5 gyms in my town.

My basic rule is use them on something you don't see often that would take 5 km to walk. I don't see the point of waiting in hope there will be something later. And if there is, I'll get more candies then

It's good to play for the now, but if rare candy drops get nerfed and they rarely drop, I think we'd all agree that saving them would be a smarter (more optimal) way to play...

Machop nests and the other stuff can still hatch...Legendaries will probably still be the best use for them since there are little ways around walking that 5km (or for all we know, they will need 10km a candy)...and that's also assuming you can even get one and have enough players to take it down...(near impossible for some area rural players)...
