Is rock smash / dynamic punch on a poliwrath good vs trex as opposed to better pokemon with single weakness attacks

Poliwrath is strictly a discount Machamp, when it comes to fighting TTar. If Machops are super rare for you and you need a TTar counter, then RS-DP Poliwrath could work.

But he's suboptimal.

...Although, Poliwrath does admittedly have the distinction of being resistant to Iron Tail and Fire Blast, which separates him from Machamp. That gives you more breathing room as far as dodging is concerned. I'll give you that.

Poliwrath actually resists all of tyranitars moves. He resists rock, steel, fire and dark. So it's true he doesn't hit as hard they both have the same stamina and poliwrath has a higher defensive stat so he's actually a pretty good counter if you can't get your hands on a lot of machop candies. I've used him against tyranitar and lapras(for the resisting water and ice) and I haven't regretted it at all. He's a pretty good substitute

Yes, but more often than not, the limitation in raids is time and not HP, so Polywrath, while he'll last longer, he'll also deal much less damage than Machamp

I appreciate your thoughts. I have two nice C/DP machamps for TTar, but was looking for something to use after them.
