More Shiny Magikarps?

I have only caught one shiny magikarp before last week. I caught one on 7/2 and another today in the wild (all low IVs though). My brother also caught his first yesterday. Any player caught shiny magikarps recently?

Do shinies show up on the nearby screen? If so, do they show up as shiny or normal?

I noticed alot more magikarp around today than normal, but it did just rain. So far still looking for my first shiny.

I haven't gotten one since they were first introduced, and I only have one.

I evolved one already, but I got another shiny fish last week. This ones cp was at least over 100

Good to here, I live next to a karp spawner & have 10+ Gary's but STILL no shiny

Caught three at the tail end of the fire and ice event. Two while it was on. One a day after it ended.

I already had three so I'm not certain the rates changed. I'm looking hard for someone with more than me. I haven't found him(her) yet.
