Arcanine w/ Bite/Crunch possible attacker into Gengar I solo raid attempt?

I have two arcanines at 91% IV, currently sitting at lvl 28. Both have Bite, and they originally came with Bulldoze, and I TM'd them to crunch, because bulldoze was too much to look at.

My Machamp solo team is almost ready to deploy and I'm looking ahead a couple days and would like to solo gengar as well, mainly because getting people excited in my town is not easy, even if it only is one more person. My gengars to date are at best subpar so I'm loooking to keep hitting gengar raids till I get one with decent IVs. I think gengar will be a important factor in legendary battles to come.

My other team members for this solo raid are:
87% IV tyranitar with Bite/Crunch
2 98% IV Alakasams Confusion/ Future Sight
1 89% IV Espeon Confusion/Future Sight

As of now these guys are all four days away to being powered up to lvl 30 across the board. And a second tyranitar lvl 30 will be hard to come by for me. Additionally, I'll be lvl 34 tomorrow so I can power up everything including the tyranitar further if need be. I'm still not certain how defense stats calculate to the opponent pokemons attack stats. Gengar is better than Arcanine but Arcanine has no other weaknesses to Ghost; Bite is a fast attack maybe slower on energy, but far better on cool down in comparision to snarl. Any input would be greatly appreciated at considered.

Hmmm....I doubt it, honestly, but I guess it is worth a try. I guess you don't have a good Houndoom?

I'm thinking that maybe a strong generalist like Dragonite with DT/O will be better here, if you have that. Or a Gyarados with B/HP or B/C.

My best houndoom is 76% and I'll have to use a tm, and generally 76% is a little low for me to comfortably use a tm and I hdbent powered him up, I have the dust but again 76% is a little low.

I do have a gyarados, I think he's 91% and 2872 CP, and honestly I've been debating using one or two tms to get crunch on him. I can't recall using him lseveral months for anything, not even a high cp gym defender when 2900 was considered high. Only that Crunch seemed a step backwards from hydro pump. So maybe I will change him and make him useful for something. Thanks!

As for Gyarados B/HP should be better than B/C, so don't TM if you've got hydro pump!

I just looked at the stats even with the extra damage hydro pump should do more damage to Gengar than Cruch even if Crunch is SE. ?

Gyarados > Arcanine assuming both with B/C
(Gyarados resists Focus Blast)

Note: that's my first positive post about Gyarados ever!

Thanks guys! I couldn't see the forest through the trees! I'm going to finish powering up this group and give it a shot with the gyarados B/HP. Worse to worse, all that happens is I end upchasing lvl 4 raids longer till I get another Tyrantar. Or work my magic to convince others to do gengar raids with me.
