What to do with 13CP Eevee

OK - I have a 13CP, Level 1 Eevee, which might be awesome.

It analyzes as 15ATK, 15DEF and...

HP ranging from 8-14. So, it could be anywhere from 84%(Meh...) to 97% (Frickin' Awesome)

I have been waiting forever for a 90%+ Eevee to evolve into an Espeon, so I have two choices. Which should I take:

A) Power up the Eevee to find out what it's STA is. This will cost some valuable dust.

B) Start walking with Eevee and evolve it into Espeon without knowing it's STA. An analysis after the evolution will probably let me know. This will cost two Chansey candies, lost by walking 10km with Eevee.

--

Update: I made the decision and powered it up twice. The eevee was only 87%, so I transferred it. The cost was 2 Eevee candy and 400 dust.

I've found that evolved mons have a smaller range of stats. Evolve it, start powering it up. Decide when you're finished. At least that's what I would do.

You can narrow the IV down by giving it just 2 levels. I had the same problem, spent 400 dust and two of my 2000 candies and it turned out it was a 96-98% Eevee. Have kept it for now.

Transfer it because:
It isn't with 100% IV, no need to keep that level 1 thing.
Save your candies on your Chansey, especially in high gym turnover rate areas.
You can probably hatch a better one, Eevee hatches aren't rare.

Your armee consists of only 100%IV-Pokemon? I am impressed.

Save your candies on your Chansey, especially in high gym turnover rate areas.

My Chansey does not eat eevee-candies.
Just for your information: There has been a gym-update lately.

You can probably hatch a better one, Eevee hatches aren't rare.

Yes, you can hatch a better one than 15/14/?. Depending on x and how much you spend on incubators, this can take a year.

No, and I meant with 100% IV was being a trophy. I don't have any Pokémon with 100% IV.

I would walk it for 10 kms and evolve it during lucky egg session.

After evolving you can evaluate again.

Why would you spend dust on Espeon? Espeon isn't that good allround attacker anymore. There are many other pokemons who are worth the dust like Machamp. Psycho type isn't good for attacking or defending.

"Psycho Type isn't good for attacking" ....

Do you even know which Pokémon has the highest ATK stat in the game?
You can even include All Gen1+Gen2+Legendaries.

Just transfer.

In this metagame, where you can no longer get easy stardust from holding gyms, stardust is a crucial, valuable commodity.

Even if you were to tell me it was the BEST case scenario! That it was 100% IV! I still wouldn't power it up. It would take a gigantic investment of dust to power it up.

CP doesn't matter (as much) anymore. In this new metagame, I'd rather power up a 70% mon that has almost a complete CP arc than a perfect mon that has an almost empty CP arc.

Because that eevee is undesirable even if it's perfect, you should just transfer.

Taking an Eevee from level 1 to level 20 costs 45000 stardust and 56 candies.

Taking an Espeon from level 31 to level 34.5 costs 45000 stardust and 48 candies, however, slightly less CP gain due to the CPM Step being halved.

So whats your point? Considering I power up a say 80% Lvl 29 Eevee instead of a 100% Lvl 1, it will save me about 100k dust. With the elimination of 5k dust a day by gyms, it's gonna take you such a long time to gather that much again. Sure, you can come up with arguments like "But it's 100%!", but dust is too rare now to spend it on a trophy, although a trophy with use. A 80% Espeon will do the job just as good as a 100% one on offense. For defence, CP doesn't matter anymore anyway, more like defending in general doesn't matter. So it's a clear case for me.

That's it, if you are going to power up only till lvl 30, than it's better just to evolve caught lvl30 with tolerable iv. But at higher levels it became more and more expensive to cover iv difference by extra powering up, so in long term 97% iv is better.

I ever catch Eeve with 42 cp aka perfect IV's, now she becomes Vaporeon with 2999 cp.
I think its worth enough, and today you could evolve it on Espeon

While Eevee candy isn't hard to find, I wouldn't waste thousands of dust on a level 1, even if its IVs are great. But thats just me. I never even appraise pokes under level 20.

Do not waste dust on it!!!!!!!!!!! I have also great Eevees.. but I used for 1100 Prestiget Vaporeon.. now it doesn't worth it... you will need a lot of dust to power him up.. you will eventually find one similar.. no need to make such investment unless you are a hardcore dust guy like one I met the other day he had a lof ot high CP pokemon and 1 millon dust.. he plays ALL DAY and with the GoPlus, that guy is addicted to Pokemon GO.

This discussion is getting into the direction good ivs versus high level.

I stick to high ivs. I do not want to have an army of mediocrate level 28-30 pokemon, i want few top-iv-top-moveset-level 37 Pokemon. Some critters i can identify with and invest TMs in without a thought.
In case of a perfect eevee or dratini, i would evolve, independend on its level.

This is my personal point of view. Another person may do it different.

I am the same...once you get that 97-100% , you are done/set with that 1 mon in your team of 6...

If you were to hatch or catch another one, now you have decision time whether to power up the 100% or power up some 60% Level 30 mon...As the power up costs are much much much higher level 30+, spending it on low IV mons becomes more expensive as you power up to 39...(sorta how IVs were very important for CP previously)...

Eventually, I think dust will catch up as you play...Right now, everyone is low due to spending it all on defenders, and now needing a whole new team, but after you have a few maxed out, you're done with your Psychic team, your fighting team, grass team, etc...

Decision made.

I powered it up to L2 for 2 candy and 400 dust. It's 87%. Transferred.

Throw it away. Stardust is too precious to spend it on a CP13 Pokemon.
