Why can't they fix stardust rewarded already?

They were fast to take away the 500 stardust per Pokemon defended but they still can't give me 300 stardust for catching Pikachu!? Same with all these other Pokemon that are technically 2nd evolution Pokemon in the current version of PoGo; Magmar, The Hitmons, etc...

Egg pokemon are not really considered first versions. They are baby pokemon.

All first forms that have a egg form will still get first form dust rewards.

That's dumb because an evolution is an evolution. If you evolve a Pichu 2 times up to a Raichu, you still get 1000 XP. If you evolve an Abra all the way to an Alakazam, you also get 1000 XP because it requires two evolutions as well. Why maintain the XP when it comes to evolutions but scale the star dust?

Because the reward for an evolution is fixed at 500 XP.

They need to find more ways to reward trainers with stardust.

Why not stardust for defending gyms, like before?

I don't mind the stardust reward for feeding berries, but 20 stardust per berry?? You would have to feed 250 pokemon per day to get the same stardust that you previously would get for holding 10 gyms.

Another thing that seems obvious to me - give double stardust for Pinap berries.
