It's a holiday where some idiot usually blow off their fingers with explosives if they are lucky. Unlucky, and they just might kill themselves trying to be a bad ass by throwing a lit 1/4 stick of dynamite into the air. Or looking down the barrel of a Roman candle to see if all the fireworks came out. Let's not forget the geniuses who decides to shoot moon rockets from between their asscheeks.
America! Fuk yeah!
31st of July, 31 times the Stardust, XP and PokéCoins for 31 hours! All PokéCoins got a 86% discount!
Anyways, Niantic won't give their PokéCoins easily. Or they won't increase the cap. You can get 50 coins for 20 minutes defending, which will be extremely easy for most players, even in a high gym turn-over rate area. That will be really sucked.
I thought there'd be a 4th July weekend event since it's also the actual anniversary of the launch date for PoGO...but since it's past now (weekend), the only other event times would be Go Fest now. on July 22nd.
I'm saving my Pokecoins for store deals before, but if not...I may upgrade my item bag finally...
Really would like double exp and double candy transfers...(mon storage is bulging).
That's why it would be called the Pokemon Go 1 year anniversary event...
Most people/countries would have no issue with that...It just so happens to also fall on the July 4th weekend where people are off work (in America) and kids are out of school (summer)...
That said, nothing was announced and no magic leaks from Team EEvolution (was that their name?) so only possible event now is Go Fest dates...
Not everyone was fine with the Thanksgiving event...it has been brought up many times that it is no more than a local holiday for a single country.
...and stop assuming America is the biggest at something, just because you like to believe it.
I would not be surprised if both Japan and India are both far larger markets than America.
...and although Niantic are American company, they are only riding the coat tails of a Japanese franchise.
