Is SC/SB Gengar needed right now?

I have a Gengar with good IV's and SC/SB that I've been debating powering up. Is it needed for the meta currently or would I do fine without it?

Dust is depleting quickly and I am getting cautious about what I power up now.

I vote no just because he is a glass cannon that is weak to the very thing he is most effective against. I think Tyranitar or Houndoom is a better choice.

Agreed. I'm happy enough with my L30 Gengar, but he isn't all that useful and most players should easily be able to find better ways to spend their dust these days.

Need? No. Nice to have? Yes. I have a perfect Gengar and I still have yet to use it in this meta. Recommend saving your resources for legendaries!!

The current meta? No, I'd say it's not needed.

It will be one of the most effective attackers vs. Mew and Lugia, though, so it might be a good idea to have one ready for legendaries when they arrive. We have no idea how soon that will be or even which legendaries will come first, though, so it's kind of up to how ready you want to be for them.

Probably a good idea to focus on powering up a good RT/SE Golem and B/SE Tyranitar first. They're effective against a vast range of legendaries.
