Gym improvement ideas (variable countdown)
I would be pleased if the gyms were made a little trickier. Now the CP nor IV matters, in fact you need to defeat a Blissey only once to bring it from 3000 to 2000. If you can defeat anything once, you will get the whole gym down in 10 minutes.
It would be interesting if they could make the timer countdown depend on some statistic per defender, such that you would risk timing out for any species if you pick the wrong match-up. And then remove the necessity of beating the weakened versions 2 more times which has absolutely no challenge involved.
The question is: Which metric would you think most suitable for reducing the timer?
Obviously, a Blissey is tough for its HP (times Defense) at the current timer. Should we just scale the time-out by this metric?

I think this system is fine. Makes the process accessible to newer players.
However, I think the system of coin collection is RIDICULOUS. It disincentivizes good defenders. The biggest change we need is a system where we can either call our defenders back and get coins or have pokemon come home when their motivation drops all the way (not having to wait until someone physically knocks them out).
Such changes would motivate players to put ACTUAL defenders in gyms.
Best idea I've seen is cap the coins you can receive individually from each gym per day, then place a large cap on the total coins you can receive per week. You want good defenders that can reach the gym cap, but don't mind if they remain in there a little too long and are all knocked out the same day.
I actually don't want people to be able to recall their mons...
Maybe since I am in a minority area currently, my biggest gripe now is there are 6 spots instantly...
I honestly rather there be 0 "free" spots and everyone has to prestige to open spots, but you can "set the CP level" of any mon so if you wanted 1000 prestige, you don't have to keep 10 Vaporeons...You have your 1 Vaporeon and say, "I want 1000 prestige" and the system will scale your Vaporeon down levels to be 1/2 CP or something. This makes more sense.
At least in the current system, I can see the rival team's mons rot in the gym and not get anything without them multi-accounting and knocking themselves out...Team imbalance is worst in this gym system and as easy as 18 fights is now, berry defense is easy and I'd rather prevent level 10 towers from being built to begin with in the old system.
Recall mons and they will stagnate even more since I don't want to take their gyms down anymore, then place mine, and get kicked out in < 1 hour...
Hating new gym system which rewards lazyness, ignorant players...
Loved the old system which rewarded high level players, people had to learn to prestige, and things weren't as much handed to everyone...
