Fast TM advice (some options)

I have these in mind:

Dragonite 2898 95.6% Steel Wing Hurricane
Rhydon 2839 91.1% Rock Smash Stone Edge
Gyarados 2701 95.6% Bite Outrage

As far as boss raids go I'd go for the Rhydon first. It is like the best attacker for 50% of the raids you can solo or take down with 2 people (all the fire types, jolteon, poison types)

Dragonite is also a good choice but not that useful right now. Only real use as far as raids go is Machamp, and even then it's not too good. However, if you get a decent 3+ people attacking a higher tiered boss then the dragonite will serve you better for longevity.

Gyarados I'd leave for later. The new multipliers (for super effective, stab etc) made it even worse. It is impractical for any raid if it doesn't have hydro pump.

ok i saw all replies, ill answer here. I have a 1600 97% gyarados with dragon breath and crunch.. I will try charge TM on it and Power Up but I don't have any Charge TM for now. I want Hydropump Gyarados. is 97% should make good dmg against Tyranitar..

Dragonite for me. Still the best generalist in the game because of his resistances plus he's high IV. Rhydon is a better candidate than Gyarados. Still, pretty easy to get one or evolve one. Unless you don't have any other candidates for TM, I'd skip him. Gyarados is useless in the current meta. Not a good defender, plus we don't really need to defend anymore and only two of his moves really affect raid bosses.

This. Dragonite is still the best generalist attacker, indeed. My 3171 DT/O Dragonite lasts the longest and does the fastest damage, in raids, out of all my Pokemon. I got a fast TM today and I used it on my 2139 95% IV SW/HB Dragonite. I changed the SW to DT. Now I'm just waiting for a charge TM to change that HB into, hopefully, another Outrage. I wouldn't mind Hurricane. The Hurricane moveset is good against a Machamp raid.

I've used Rhydon in a Arcanine raid and he is just too darn slow. Golem with RT/SE is much better, imo.

Actually hurricane does about 20 more DPS and has better type coverage. Plus outrage has 7.8 seconds of move animation compared to hurricanes 2.7. You are actually losing 5 seconds of fast attacks. On average u fill the energy bar 2 or 3 times per fight thus forfitting between 170.1 and 256.5 damage and 82 to 123 energy gained per battle. The only thing Outrage has going for it is that it is better for defense I hear. But I don't use it for a defender since the update. Just use it as a general attacker in gym battles.

I would just do the Dragonite myself...Hurricane is actually more useful as the coverage is better for the current raid bosses and flying covers more types than Dragon...

I got DT/O from SW/HB, but would've probably been more happy with DT/Hu...

I need to get another Dragonite, but took me so long for my first and only one already.

TL:DR - DT/Hu Dragonite is great overall and esp for Machamp...No need to burn a charge TM on it...

This.If you ever want to solo a Machamp, a DT/Hu is insanely good and will save your bacon if your psychics come up against a double fighting move.

Aw really? Welp. I've been thinking to change Hurricane to Outrage. I know about its use and effectiveness in the current meta but still Outrage is Dragonite's best DPS charge move. Nevertheless, it's more like a 20% use a TM and 80% keep the Hurricane thinking. It's just that this is actually the 1st time I've seen someone *sulking they got DT/O over at DT/H Dragonite.

Definitely not sulking, but Outrage does maybe 3% more damage? Bottom line is the risk to get Hyperbeam again is possible and why go there? Both moves are perfectly fine and Hurricane just has better coverage...

He's right. O is great but H is critical for this battle. I would definitely not spend a TM on changing from H. No way

I would change SW on the dragonite personally. Dt is one of the best fast moves in game and it still is great for taking down gyms. I agree the Gyrados is not raid worthy, is not a bad option for gym battles. I love using bite as my fast move when dodging/ weaving. Hydropump of course would be better but I wouldn't use a TM on a Gyrados at all. I like my Rs/Se Rhydons I have 4, excellent for when I am running low on potions to heal my fight club. I also seem to have good luck with finding ryhdons in my area. I have transferred 2 100% IV and like 5 90% one because they rolled megahorn.Since they only need 50 candies to evolve, which is what 9 Ryhorns with pineberries. I would just evolve another.

Just to clarify:
DT is one of the best fast moves in the game, but SW is the best fast move in terms of DPS.
DT is only better than SW for Dragonite because of STAB.

Dragonite. None of them are great options for using fast TMs on, but. Dragonite will benefit the most.
