Any point in powering up?
Now that any mon can fit into a gym regardless of cp or type and gyms can be taken down with well below sub par mons. Not to mention raid bosses being dependent on other trainers and not your own mons. I wonder is there any point at all to power up any thing at all?
Not that I care but I am struggling to find a good tactical reason.

Overall I would say...play the game from a much more simple point of view, and not a 'most efficient' or 'effective' one.
Power up what you want...what you like.
We all have our favourite pokemon. Prob all got some favs that are not all that good in the meta technically...but its cool to have a strong version of it because you like it.
Either that or just dont do anything....prepare for the future and what it may possibly bring
Just hit lv38 today. I saved around 1.3M dust before the update, and now remaining less than 10K, maxed out few the best counters so as to solo level 3 raid, so far manage to beat down machamp/vaporeon/gengar alone, failed on flareon/alakazam, confident on arcanine gonna give a try, almost made through a Charizard with another two lv31 trainers.
So the goal is to solo all level 3 and go through level 4 within minimal participants.
Whats the point to save dust if no use of it
