My failed solo raid against at 17000K Arcanine.

I felt pretty good that I could take this level 3 raid boss down by myself. I choose my lineup of: 3171 DT/O Dragonite, 2899 DT/HP Gyarados, 2525 RT/SE Golem (whom I just wasted precious stardust to power up prior to the match), 2506 RT/EQ Golem, and then I picked two WG/HP Vaporeon 2550 CP & 2383.

I start the match with Dragonite. And I'm thinking to myself, pleasseeeee don't let his charge move be Wild Charge. Dragonite is doing great, and then all of a sudden...Arcanine uses Wild Charge! I'm like, damn it! I back out immediately.

Plan B: It obviously cannot be as single Vaporeon or Gyarados. So swap the water Pokemon with 2246 SC/Shadow Ball legacy Gengar, 2829 MS/SE Rhydon, and a 2610 MS/EQ Rhydon. I restart the match. Dragonite does serious damage to the Arcancine. (I'm very surprised why Dragonite rarely gets mentioned when it comes to raid bosses) Gengar is up next. He does what he does best, super speedy damage. I then attack with my two Golems. I was super impressed with how well they performed. And then I finish the match off with the super SLOOOOOOW Rhydon's. I end up timing out with centimeters of Arcanine's health left.

The game then proceeds to crash on me 10-15 times. (I kid you not) I stay persistent, reopen the damn app over a dozen times, and tweak a few lineups. The closest I got was DT/O Dragonite, SC/SB Gengar, 2482 C/P Espeon, the two Golems, and 2111 C/EQ Donphan. EXTREMELY CLOSE!

Long story short: Dragonite and Golem are beasts. Rhydon is a slow piece of ****. Pokecrash solos me. And I'm wishing I hard more stardust.

Is RT/RB Golem on par with RT/SE Golem? I got two RT/RB Golems with 91% & 93% IV's, 1809 and 1644 CP's, respectively.

How are your solo raids going? :D

Top shelf rant. Mine is usually just a string of f-bombs. Well done sir.

I'm surprisingly very calm after that horrible experience. But then again I am sipping on red wine, so... :D

To answer your last question I did this a bit ago. I hit the air brakes and took a pic to admire the carnage the previous 3 did to him

The only ones that mattered were a maxed Zam with FC/FS, and two DT/H Dragons all at lv 37.5. After that I used the Eggy shown and a piece of another Dragon but the fight was on complete cruise after the first three. It really helped that he had C as a charge move. Not hard to predict and sink that last Hurricane before you die

Soloed an Arcanine with double fire, so was not too hard. WIld Charge would have eaten up my Gyras so I was glad Arcanine had double fire instead and my Gyras got a run out.

With all the lags, ghost charged moves and numerous bugs, I can barely solo level 2 raid so I hardly try to solo level 3. If all those lag and bugs are sorted out, I believe most of the players can solo level 3 if they time the dodge move perfectly to avoid all the bosses charged moves..

I came a little short on a Flareon. It was time that got me. If someone else helps, even just a little, the level 3s are quite doable. Soloing level 2s puts three or four mon in the ICU, but isn't hard. Level 1s are a walk in the park, well, I will have a mon that needs some potion afterwards.

I think RB Golem is not quite as strong in terms of raw damage as SE Golem but they should be pretty close. Thanks for the post! I have yet to try a Wild Charge Arcanine, seems like a real challenge.

AT vape did the trick when my kid soloed one, eating 1 wild charge filled the energy bar for at least two ATs so back to back ATs very soon. I for sure eat 2 wild charges, possibly 3.
On the other hand my 2 golems, 1 rhydon and 1 vape were lvl 38.5 OPs one seams to be low 30, a bit too low in my opinion.

Yesterda was Flateon turn. Did not succeded solo after 2 tries, started one time with rock ines and second with vapes. Did better with rock ones. But maight be doable, each golem died 1-2 sec before a charge, so a dodge at right time may be what I've missed. But time went fast and I did it with the others there (that were patientlly waiting for me).
Btw, was an Ember/flame thrower one.

That's right, attacking Arcanine or Flareon SE is better.

I tried Arcanine solo today too. My first try, missed it by a few seconds. Only 4 of my Pokémon fainted.

Second try, has some glitches and didn't do as well.

Then the hour was up.

One thing I will say - everyone is talking about Rhydon being such a key attacker, but he really is slow and doesn't do the damage that Dragonite does, even if he's putting out SE damage. And against Fire, I think Vap is better as long as it isn't a WC Arcanine.

Do you know how to use a damn rhydon or golem if arcanine has wild charge? They resist electric moves.
EDIT: I mean a full team of them

Did you even read my post? I used TWO Rhydons. They're SLOOOOOW! Timing out is the issue and they don't help.

Had a very similar experience and came to the conclusion that Arcanine with WC is the hardest by far.

BTW, Rock Blast is terrible for offense compared to Stone Edge. My 100% IV Golem has MS/RB, planning to swap out the charge move. RB is better for defense but Golem is way better suited for offense.

Thanks so much for sharing. My lineup to counter Arcanine is extremely similar to yours. I am excited for my first solo attempt. I will definitely share my results with you all.

I'm level 35 (totally legit) and went up against a Snarl/Crunch Arcanine today. Took me three tries, but I got him down. I started with Rhydons, Golem, etc, but was actually surprised at the damage my Vaporeons were dishing out, so ended up leading with them on the third try. Also was very disappointed to remove my CP 3457 Tyranitar from the team entirely. Won with the following crew:

Vaporeon 2988 96% WG/AT
Vaporeon 2985 98% WG/AT
Vaporeon 2739 96% WG/HP (I live in Eevee heaven!)
Rhydon 3094 89% MS/SE
Rhydon 2832 87% MS/E
Golem 2460 91% MS/E (didn't fight)

Vapes at lvl 36, golems at lvl 30, sure they hit harder :); similar levels golems do more damage per second(not per fight).
And rock/se hit just a bit stronger than ms/eq golems :)

And congrats for a very nice win.
