Why won't my Pokémon just die already?

My Dragonite has been sitting there fully unfed and absolutely vulnerable, along with EVERY OTHER POKÉMON IN THE GYM, for almost TWENTY FOUR HOURS.

WHY WONT YOU DIE. WHY CANT I RECLAIM YOU EARLY AND TAKE MY MONEY.

I feel your pain. I had a Snorlax sit at the gym for 1 day and 6 hours. Guess how many coins I got after he was kicked out? ZEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

LOL @ the gym rework.

Oh. How sad. I'll come feed him. ;-)

1 day and you're already complaining? My gyms have been untouched since the gyms went live.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

I'm going to take a hike through the woods to help a friend on another team. He put his Heracross in a remote gym before he realized how this all worked lol.

You're telling me. Before we knew better I put my best Gyrados in a small town in Germany. Never going back there but of course its been sitting there for near 6 days now...

Same with my Snorlax... it is going to be in gym the sixth day and its heard is "full red".

I'm glad they fixed that stagnant gym problem...

No point in fighting gyms anymore, it takes far too long, is a pure snoozefest while you are doing it and wastes revives and potions.

If you haven't tried since the first day or so, they did increase the ammount that motivation drops when fighting. It is only about three passes through, unless someone feeds then while you are fighting.

I have, took one down tonight, 3 times through is definitely better than 5 but it was completely pointless as I hadn't gotten 5 minutes away before my pokemon came out again.

No one else wants to fight the same 6 pokemon 3 times in a row either so as soon as they see one at level 1 they jump on it.

Even though it's faster than clearing a level 10, it's still slower than clearing a level 3 gym...also, the defenders didn't have to do ANY work to open 6 spots so if you tear it down, they knock you out, and put 6 more back...

Hating the new system myself...

18 fights, even easier fights at the end is just annoying when you will probably get less than 10 coins to begin with and with no prestige, I think the rival team just laughs that you wasted all your time (don't even care about potions since I have so many now with no need to prestige gyms...).

If I do take one down I just use Blissey so I don't waste potions. She can roll through a gym at half health. For those rare well-fed Blisseys I will use a Machamp for the first couple rounds...

I'll give that a shot next time but that seems it would only make it take longer. Plus I don't have a HB blissey still, have one with DG and 2 with Psychic

Mine have DG. It takes a little longer, but it saves on the potions. It just depends on what is more important to you. I'm not trying to take down multiple level 10 gyms in a night anymore, so screw It, Blissey it is.

You troll your opponents now by not defeating their Pokémon and taking their gyms. ?

Yep, I went into rival team territory and took down a couple of their gyms figuring I was doing them a favor. They returned the favor by retaking them back right away, so as far as I'm concerned they can keep them forever now.

I do this as well...not bothering and not caring to kick them out...If they want their coins, their multi-account player will have to clear it himself...

My 2k Lapras come back yesterday after 3 days on a gym, no coins because I already got the ones of the day, and it was 23.30...This gym system is the worst for sure, 3 days on a gym, 0 coins 0 dust, nice one Niantic, but I won't put any money on the game anymore ;)

Oh yeah, totally forgot about that! So the balance is actually negative for keeping a gym for 3 days hahah, it is hilarious...

This is just not well thought through.

So much for the gym rework. Died within 7 days of opening. GG.

Cut your bellyaching. In March, I knocked down a level 3 gym that had been changing hands 3-5 times daily. Thought, what the heck, I'll throw in my only Dragonite.
Got him back when the gym update flush happened. 3 months. At least he got me 10 coins and some dust daily. Had 67 candy and couldn't bump him up. Now I bump him, and find out that over 3000 you lose motivation way faster. Aaargh.

Oh, wow, 24 hours! On Monday I had defenders in seven gyms, some of them out for over four days. None of them returned. I placed three more in a high-overturn area ...where they remained. At midnight, still zero coins. The next morning, three defenders are home. By afternoon, all of them had been kicked out.

I got 6 mons in 6 different cities for about 3 days. Got no coins for it.
Guess what...

4 of those 6 months returned yesterday in the eveneing.
I got 50 coins for 300hours defending. Yeah.
Old system what have been 40x3 =120coins.
But ya. Don't complain anymore.. just let it happen.

When they announced this new system, I was expecting the mons to come back home if their motivation meter was 0. Would have made sense you actually had to pass by your gym and keep the critter fed or else the gym slot was considered abandoned (and would have helped with removing players who no longer play from a gym).
